Two Worlds 2

So last night Frog mentioned Two Worlds 2 was coming out in early Oct. I hadn't been paying attention to this game but I'm always looking for a multiplayer hack n slash adventure so today I did some digging around and I gotta say, I'm now quite intrigued. I didn't really play the first one because early on it struck me as pretty buggy and something just didn't feel right but reading and seeing videos about this new version I may just have to pick it up. I also found an article on co-optimus about the co-op aspect of it. Anyone else looking to pick this up?

After getting burned on the first one i'm taking a wait and see approach on the second one. But i will be keeping a close eye on it, since i really like the concept of it, i just hope they can pull it of this time.

I'll be getting it. Actually liked the first one, but I got it almost a year after it came out and a lot of the bugs got some love.

Prob not day one (unless it has cool preorder bonus), but in short order.

I *really* wanted to enjoy the first one, but I just couldn't get into it.

Karak/Xerxes, do you guys have any recommendations on how to approach the game?

The first one was a hate crime against gamers.

I will not be touching the second.

I imagine they approached it with a slight psychosis or a lobotomy.

Yep. For my "Gears of War..craft" fix I'll hold off until Hunted gets here.

I don't know. I was completely upset with it to start. I couldn't even make out my own character on my initial playing. I even bought the Collectors box so I was majorly let down. I don't know why but something just told me to jeep giving it another shot. The systems just started to click all of sudden. Then I found the models to be funny in some points. Like bears did not look like bears at all. And the bad voice acting filled me with whimsical glee. It was equally "so bad it's good", to hey they were on to something.

I'm not sure what to expect this time. I know it'll be hard to capture that type of magic again. I don't think too many people would want that magic. I doubt they can do any worse but I'll be there day one to see the results.

For me it was just giving it a little extra time. I had nothing at the time to play so I gave it a chance.
And after seeing some people here love games that completely SUCK due to technical issues and frankly brokeness, the fact that a couple of us love Two Worlds isn't as strange as people here would like you believe.

I also like fun and frankly this was fun to me and to those I played it with.

It's overworld was also incredibly...like...incredibly diverse. Far morso than almost any game I have played before. It made Oblivion look horrid when it came to diverse landscapes. Everything from wasteland desert to snowy landscapes to very nicely done evil lands, and huge castles, all with different looking people. It made Oblivion look like its bitch when it came to diversity in places and character looks. Entire areas that mimicked ancient Japan, Greece, Rome, old England, it was really pretty inspiring in what they were trying to do.

The stacking of magical cards to increase and change your magic spells was really awesome, the brewing system was very deep, the weapons were diverse and there were hundreds upon hundreds of them all with different skills that could be combined. It still has one of the deepest systems when it comes to skills and weapons and brewing I have ever seen.

Basically it all just ended up being fun. Quarky...sure, but games made by HUGE companies have had far more bugs in their AAA releases than Two Worlds had. Were their issues? Yup no doubt. But it was a charming retard of a fun game. Far more enjoyable to me than those beauties other companies have released only to find out that the game is all about makeup only to find pox scars exist beneath the shine.

I have pre-ordered this. I loved the first game, the only real issue I had with it was the horrible framerate. I could grind gear in TW1 forever. TW2 looks much better visually so I hope the framerate will be solid.

I am actually looking forward to this more than any other game that has yet to be realeased this year.

Completely unfair. It just had a bad framerate, but the gameplay was fantastic if you were a long time western RPG fan. Besides, the second is seriously improved, as evidenced from PAX. No more bad framerate.

Then again, you love Monday Night Combat, so I guess our tastes in games differ quite a bit.

I also loved that you were just kind of a dude. Not stuck in some class. I may be foggy but I was swinging a sword with the best of them and still stacking magic cards and such. I get annoyed with class systems more often than not.

It has been over a while since I played it, but I think that's how I played it too. Mostly sword swinging and some magic just for the heck of it. I loved how most of the swords in the game were modeled after the Kit Rae fantasy swords. I haven't heard much about the sequel. Wonder if it'll have the same voice acting as the first one.

The first one was buggy but it had some really cool things. I like the stat building and the world its self. I really like how you could respec single player games just don't have that even thou they really should.

I have the collector's edition of the first game. I can't wait for the second. It looks to fix most of the problems with the first game and looks like a blast.

The first game became an acquired taste. I didn't get that far in it considering the large world, but I had a fun enough time with it. Worth the $13-15 I spent on it.

I might rent TWII from Gamefly but depending on how it is I may opt to just keep it.

You should. As with most games it will be judged on fairly unrealistic views both pro and con Ha. As usual.
