I must have been under a rock, never noticed this one. For all their co-op rhetoric, is there an SP game here?

I had never heard of this before this thread. I've checked out some of the E3 stuff now, and I do want.

I always imagine the artists work up a drawing of a naked woman, then go over it once to cover up all the bits you can't show to get an M rating, another once over to add a few dangly bits to the two peice bikini/nipple covers to give it some flavor, and last but not least, incase a limb or two in armor. You know, cuz they fight monsters and stuff.

Huh, I don't remember hearing about this game at all during E3, but it does look rather interesting. If there's offline co-op, I'll certainly be keeping an eye on it...

Basically the only thing that saves this from generic is the co/op, so I´ll pass.

Unfortunately this game seemed to take a far back seat at E3 (which is the major flaw of the show) but it's getting some pub thanks to QuakeCon.

I played it at QuakeCon. It's like a fantasy-style Gears of War. Camera is the same, controls the same, cover the same...but with great melee combat.
Many ask about there being an SP game. I'm sure there is...I think the AI just takes over the second player. From what I saw, it doesn't play like a dungeon crawler, though that could have just been the map I was able to play. The game is a new most-anticipated for me. It's not generic. It hasn't been done before. This mentality has to stop. /broken record

When I read 'hide' armor, I thought it was something to do with stealth. Then the picture finally loaded. Silly me.

To be fair, there aren't a lot of fantasy action games released.

The main character is ridiculously over-sexualized. I'm tired of seeing that again and again in games. It looks like something a 14 year old boy would draw in his notebook during English class.

Gears with swords just sounds like they swapped one generic universe template for the other in my book. I'm sure it's a decent game but I'm already bored with the world looking at those screens.
And not many fantasy action games? Bayonetta, GoW3, Darksiders, Dante's Inferno, Enslaved, etc. Now fantasy shooters okay, but there's plenty of fantasy action this year alone.

I explained a little in the QuakeCon thread, but you can use A to take cover, LB to switch from sword to crossbow, then hold L to peak out of cover and aim at enemies, shoot with R. Jump out of cover, switch back to your sword, and use the face buttons as the attack buttons. I very well-made blend of shooter and melee combat. But with that, you get spells and potions, as well as the chance to revive your fallen partner. Like I said in an earlier thread, it reminds me of Dark Messiah, but 3rd person, and a larger emphasis on skill-based combat. Block, dodge, counter, quick aiming. My type of game. Funny you mention those, because while generic doesn't always mean bad - those are generic. Hunted plays in a different way that has yet to be done.
