Well, if you are interested, faction warfare is not a bad place for PvP. It's alot more free-for-all, so you can roam single or in a small party with friends, and there are many war targets to find.

You can also join large gangs, if that is your thing too.

People still do want you to listen in to instructions, a mic is not necessary. It is not a problem for me to type out instructions to you if you'd like, as they are generally short and sweet.

Faction warfare is full of newbs and experts, so you can fit in regardless of skill level. If you come back, join the CoG channel or message Akira Mio in game. Evemail might actually be best.

It's not really about the PVPing (I don't pvp on EVE, don't want to lose my astarte and +1billion isk worth of mods )

It's more about the CCP's stance on pampering the salvaging thieves. Pisses me off to no end as a Mission runner. So I voted with my wallet for now and not pay for it.

Yeah. Salvage thieves are a pain. Thankfully, I've only been nailed by them a couple of times. But still, losing your salvage on a level 4 mission really sucks.

Just wanted to bump this to make sure that all CoG'ers were in the in-game channel "CoG", so at the very least we can keep in touch in-game.

You join channels by clicking on the "Channels/Mailing List" button in your dock, six icons up from the bottom. Click the "Join Channel" button and type in "CoG".

I'm both Tym Ealis (That may or may not be the correct spelling) and Cen Kassal. Both are noobs.

EDIT: NVM on the request I mentioned here earlier--I accidentally quit, and now the agent won't let me do it again. Also, I plan on getting rid of both guys and starting over.

Yeah. Asking people for anything in EvE (at least in non-corp chat) gets you responses that are insults. I just hopped in and sent you some cash. Should get you started. If you haven't already, join the COG chat channel. You'll probably see my characters in there (Kerath Verennas & Sharal) pretty frequently right now.

How many people are still active? Just before I let my subscription run out, it was virtually nobody.

There are about 4-5 people in the CoG channel these days, sometimes a bit more.

I keep wanting to come back and play, but I never seem like I'm able to commit.

Oh well, better than nothing I guess. Decided (after watching the Alliance Tournament at the weekend) to re-up for a month and see if I can't get back into it.

Don't forget the big expansion is coming in March... lots of sexy stuff being implemented, the most important of which are wormholes and Tech 3 ships.

Maybe I'll cut back on the WoW raiding scene for a bit and reactive my two accounts for a month or so and see how things go.

Good thing my afk training has maxed most of the Tech 2 skill trees. Training for Tech 3 should be easy.

And how much of that content will a pleb like myself ever actually see? Most important to me is the skill queues, which means no getting up at stupid times of the evening to set skills.

I'm very curious about this game, but I'm trying to avoid ever getting into any MMOs, even one that sounds as cool as this one.

Not to mention that I'd probably have my ass handed to me.

Wormholes, for one, will be very accessible, as I understand them, they will have varying degrees of difficulty and content, and they are also changing up how probe scanning works, making it easier to find them. Also in the Expansion are epic mission arcs, if PvE is your bag.

Three words:

Fourteen day trial.

And as I've said in the past, you'd be surprised what new players can get into. New players are NOT always at an extreme disadvantage, if you have the motivation.

Four words:

Where is the time?

I have no time to get into something like this right now, so don't even tempt me! I'll just lurk this thread until my urge to play it is so overwhelming that I give in and curse your name while I fly through space.

Did you catch some of the proposed ideas for future expansion packs on the tournament webcast this weekend? New COSMOS missions, personal Deadspace, Subsystem targeting and Joystick controlled flight for the ships. The flight idea is the one that has me most interested since it'll put a lot more fun into the game.

I've played the 14 day trials a few times before...and honestly I'm not sure. I LOVE the idea of playing EVE but I'm not sure how to really get into playing. I've done mining a whole lot, made a couple million ISK but it gets boring after a while.
