The End of Summer is Good News for Gamers!

There are a lot of good things about summer. The video game release schedule is not one of them. My poor GameFly queue has been limping along for months now... if not for the approach of some new releases, I might have played Godfather 2!!!

So, what is everyone looking forward to most?

I have:

-Mafia 2 (8/24) - the end of the summer drought
-Dead Rising 2 (9/28) - DR1 is still one of my favorites this gen
-Fallout: New Vegas (10/19) - odds on favorite to be my #1 game of fall
-Rock Band 3 (10/26) - well, except for this game
-Fable 3 (10/26) - Fable games are always interesting, warts and all
-The Sims 3 (10/26) - I know, I know... sue me
-The Force Unleashed 2 (10/26) - Could be great, could be more excruciating QT events and lame boss battles
-Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (11/16) - I want to ignore this for being too much too soon, but it sounds great
-Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (11/16) - It's from the Burnout team, nuf said

There's a bunch more I want to play, but those are the likely purchases. I'll probably buy 6 of the 9. October 26th looks like a massive game of chicken... Something has to move off that date, doesn't it? Four major releases on the same day would be a slaughterhouse.

DC Universe Online is a possibility, but that all depends on beta feedback. Phantasy Star Portable 2 would be nice, but I doubt I'll have time for it for a bit. God of War: Ghost of Sparta is supposed to make it this year, but it has no date.

When the hell did the new releases slow down? I mean maybe the last couple weeks, but that's about it. I'm still knee deep in games! I need a time-out, not more!

Sly Cooper is the only thing I can think of that I want so far. I mean, I want many of the games that are coming out, but nothing grabs me as MUST BUY AT LAUNCH this fall...yet.

I blame RDR and Just Cause 2 for putting the brakes on my gaming bulldozer. In the span of time I've played them I could have beaten 6+ games.

Godfather 2 was pretty decent, though not as fun as the first (on Wii).

Civ5? When does that come out on 360? PC, you say? Those still play games?!? I wonder if my PC's DVD drive still works? It does!

I have faith it's finally coming out in November.

Also, regarding Mafia II. I am SO looking forward to it that I actually had a dream that I was a mob underling being shown the ropes by Jack Nicholson. He came under fire from a rival mob boss and I killed the other boss. I told Jack to make a break for it and I ended up "surrendering" to the cops, but one of them gave me this kind of knowing wink that told me that he was on the take and I'd be on my way soon.

If this game is as cinematic and fun as the original with newer tech/mechanics, I will be so, so, SO very sold. Gah, I'm making myself crazy just thinking about it.

Godfather 2 was Godawful. The areas were about as big as a T.G.I. Friday's, and although the racket-takeover mechanic was interesting the fact that the first game was still much better left a sour taste in my mouth.

The first game was excellent. I still have good memories of it. Loved every piece--I even aced the early Race Car mission on the first try. I just hope this game is as good as the original, but I have my doubts.

I really want Madden 11. I don't even really like sports games all that much but always had a soft spot for football but I don't play them too long usually. But after playing the demo for 11, I think it's fantastic. Played about 5 games so far with the demo alone and am just loving it.

Comes out 8/10, I think.

I had a wheel for my PC so I never had a problem with the racing mission. It wasn't until I watched my friend try it with his keyboard that I realized what a bitch it was.

The only thing I am really looking for is "Fallout: New Vegas" for when it comes out consumption. "Rock Band 3" is in the background - but I have to get better at the other rockbands first.
