I'm boycotting DeathSpank for being the project that killed the third PA Adventures.

...and because it looks dumb.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Deathspank looks incredibly stupid, with all the praise I've heard about the game I was starting to think I was going nuts. Well, more so than usual. It'll be out on the PSN today, I'll be sure to ignore it.

Honestly, I love action RPGs, and I can't get past the game's name. I don't blame it for there being no third episode of PAA. I blame poor sales of the second game for that.

But, Jesus, DeathSpank? Could you possibly get more juvenile?

Oh, right. Redneck FART comes out this week.

I'll wait and see some opinions from folks who've played the game. Still, 1200 points is a bit rich.

Oh, it can get more juvenile. Watch any of the videos they've put out for it. I love Diablo style loot based action RPGs, Deathspank just looks awful. It's like they tried to throw in some Duke Nukem style humor, but even more poorly written if that's possible.

It's Ron Gilbert so I'm interested regardless. Will wait for reviews but I don't buy any 1200 pt games anyway. Will wait for a price drop.

And I thought the demo for the first PA game was bland as hell so I never bought it. I'm glad they made something different.

Hmm. I forgot about this. I may have a reason to avoid it (or at least justify my laziness )

Yeah. I haven't really looked into it very much but 1200 points is a wee bit high. I'll see what the general concensus is.

And that's the reason I can't just poo-poo the game away. But if it is basically a Diablo/Torchlight style of game, I can probably resist it as I have piles of those on my PC that I can fire up whenever...

I'm boycotting Deadliest Warrior because the show is FUCKING TERRIBLE HISTORY.

But it is awesome fantasy And it helps kill time when there's nothing else on at work.

I'm still waiting for the Tai Chi vs. Tank Commander episode.

i don't get all the Deathspank hate. It looks quite good imo and the 2 reviews out there confirm this.

PA was a lousy game wrapped in a nice shell.

I really don't see why the game is juvenile compared to hundreds of videogames out there. Hello. We have a hobby of shooting aliens of a fleshplanet, shooting rockets from cars into someones zombiecar or ripping someones spine out going whoohaa in Mortal Komabt. Our whole hobby floats on juvenile, suddenly it's an issue.

I guess I could relax my boycott if it turns out to play like Bushido Blade.

I'd rather have a lousy game wrapped in a nice shell than a lousy game wrapped in a lousy shell.

Who doesn't, I still don't see a lousy game in Deathspank though, at least not until I actually touched it and find out for myself.

Thanks for reminding me of the obvious though

I showed my coworker this and his response sums up mine perfectly.
"What the fuck?!"

Deathspank does have two reviews out and it's sitting at nearly an 85% rating. Seems to be an addictive little game that eventually gets it's hooks into you. Sounds cool.

I was hoping for the same thing, but the videos do not look promising.

You guys know it's free to download a trial of any arcade game right? You can definitely try it to decide whether or not you like these games.

From the way everyone's talking it's like this was a game without a demo.
