I'm not happy I have to work that day and will be clawing my eyes out waiting to go home.

I've seen some seriously cheap deals on it already. Not sure about Canada, but check around. You may find somewhere doing it cheap on launch day.
Wowza, that is a deal. I haven't seen anything like that here.

SC2 is just so good. When you get yourself out of a sticky situation and come back for the win, makes you feel like the man.

That depends on whether you consider it 'a third of a game' though. Gameplay lenght wise, it's the same, if not more than the original. Plus you have full access to all MP and Mods. Unless you want to know how the campaign plays out with the other races i'd imagine there is little reason to buy parts 2 and 3.

There are reasons to dislike SC2 (region locking top of my list), but the whole 1/3 game smacks of misunderstanding at best, ignorance at worst or just jumping on the Actibliz$ hate bandwagon.
Where did I talk about the "1/3 of a game" complaint? My point is, I play StarCraft for the single-player campaign. Not a big SC multiplayer fan. Thus, I'm willing to wait until the Battlechest release so I can play all 3 single-player campaigns without having to wait a year between releases. SC 2 looks like fun, but nothing for me that screams "buy me now!" In my opinion, of course.

arg someone email me a new phase 2 beta key. I love Starcraft 2 more than anything... 400+ matches in beta prove it!

I'm playing with the same people from 1998

Sorry, I went off on a tangent towards Dukes earlier post in that, after answering the race bit. I should have clarified it more.

If SP is your thing, then yeah, waiting for a battlechest seems the best option. Part 2 is Zerg, Part 3 Protoss.

How they plan to rope in the MP junkies into buying those without splintering the comunity is anyones guess.

I have no doubt you're right. I think what they probably mean is that they're looking into how much it might cost them extra in money and/or headaches.

I'm sure there's a big difference between doing it and doing it right. Trans-continental ping times usually aren't too hot.

Like I said make ladder play locked but let people set up games with any one they want. If you are playing with freinds the ping isn't going to be all that much of an issue.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable.

15 days. Just 15 days....

I may have to invent a time machine, to go forward in time and buy a copy when its out then travel back to play the SP.

I estimate the time of completion for this project to be 15 days. IN YOU FACE liner time people!

You should have waited another day... 2 weeks just sounds more temporally rounded. But, woot... can't wait. I hope since people got to play around with the editor during the beta that there is some fantastic custom content coming out soon.

I was in a shop today actually considering pre-ordering this. I mean, only two (physical) places are likely to stock it, and I think I can count on EB not under cutting JB and since keys are regional, massive import savings are out. So there's not really any path of best deal. And after not being able to walk into a shop and just buy Mario Galaxy 2, not even for ready money, 'cause every where was sold out, I don't feel comfortable being able to just buy it.

But I just can't reconcile the idea of preordering not being a chump move.

Doesn't use that format any more. Now it's just a name and a numerical identifier, or you can add people via email.

BTW, anyone can add me at wolf_mecca@hotmail.com
