Thanks for the great time, everyone! I have Fridays off all summer, so I know where I'll be on Thursdays.

Some great games tonight (even though I was on Red most of the time and Red lost most of the time... maybe there's something to that)

I love that Ghostbear toughed it out through an arrow in the face to kill me:

I even got killed by Mags at one point:

Shoot, the great screenshot I thought I had taken at the beginning of the night does not appear to exist. It was the happiest backstabbed heavy I've ever seen, too

A teammate avenges my death with an axe:

Who's head is that?

My favorite shot of the night - Ghostbear falls to his death after killing me:

On the bright side:

I ran into that problem as well. I took an awesome screenshot of a spy engulfed in flames closeup, but it's gone.

Probably Wackman's, he was dominating me that map. Pesky spies, always faking being a friend or being invisible until they stab in the back.

One thing I noticed you doing (and this is because you're new) is that you kept trying to attack when the medigun equiped. switch to the bonesaw or needlegun for those times when the medic needs to become BATTLEMEDIC!™ Just a friendly observation as a former career medic.

Many moons ago, my only gaming machine was an IBM Thinkpad. To this day, Thinkpad keyboards do not appreciate gaming. If you press 3 keys (any 3 keys) at once, they will loudly BEEP at you and the entire system will pause for a good, long second. This was a pain in the ass when playing Duke3D, so I decided to switch to mouse controls. I needed to bind one of my two most frequently-used keys somewhere to the mouse in order to BEEP avoid BEEP stalling BEEEEEEEEP.

So the buttons I chose were fire, and move forward. Since Duke3D was the era before WASD, and A was jump and Z was duck, I made my strafing keys D and G with the backwards key being F. All other keys are bound around these.

So yes. My right mouse click moves me forward. (alternate fire in TF2 is S for me, but it changes for each game depending on the function, some games it's B, or spacebar)

Gentlemen! May I procure an invite to the Steam group?

Also, any are encouraged to add me, though I don't get the chance to play much: Jeffool

But more and more I'm tinkering with TF2, and I figure "why not?"

Fastest way is probably to post your Steam ID in this thread!

Hope to be shooting you soon!

Good God, it's worse than I could have ever imagined.

We need a mod on the server that remaps everyone's controls to 'LiquidRain' during sudden death melee.

To be fair we would have to map Liquid's to default. I fear not much would get done, but it would be quite comical.

Haha, that's be nothing if not interesting.

Conversely, though, I find WASD completely unusable. My muscle memory is far too strong at this point. I also find WASD restricting; I'm left with far too few keys on the left side of my hand to muss about with binds.

Thanks for the advice! I was definitely confused during the first few rounds, but eventually I started getting the hang of things. I even scored a couple of kills with the bonesaw.

I switched to Soldier for the last few rounds, and I really enjoyed that class. I'll probably play as a Soldier again next Thursday.

Next thing to learn is rocket jumping. I still don't have the hang of it, but when executed correctly, it can be fun to jump up somewhere unexpected and kill someone from above

Executing a Rocket Jump, then firing off a crit while in mid-air and seeing it kill 3 people before landing is one of the greatest feelings in TF2. Completely luck-dependant, but still awesome.

What's this next Thursday talk? We usually get games going on the weekend as well... I know Hap has a DoW2 night scheduled for tonight, but maybe we can do a saturday or sunday night game this week too.
