Pile of Shame

This thread is more for my own record keeping but I think that some people may find it useful as well. This thread's purpose is to list your pile of shame, games that you are wanting to play but not at this point in time due to lack of time, budget constraints, or other reasons (no console).

Here is my current list and will edit it as time elapses:

Dragon Age awakening
Far Cry 2
the Witcher
Time, gentleman, please
Red Dead Redemption
The Liberty Stories
Fable 2
Fable 3
Pixel Junk Shooter
Flotilla
Napoleon: Total War
Super Mario Galaxy (1 and 2)
Splinter Cell: Conviction
FFXIII
Alan Wake
Resident Evil 5
Sam and Max Season 3
The Tales of Monkey Island
Arcanum

Listing games that haven't been released yet is cheating.

Mainly my PC backlog.

Torchlight
Empire: Total War
King Arthur

Probably plenty of games I haven't even got round to buying yet, but I tend not to get games until I have time to play them. Damn steam sales!

I'm only going to list games that I OWN. If I listed games I wanted to buy but haven't yet it would be bigger.

Heavy Rain - played two chapters and got sucked into Demon's Souls instead
Batman: AA - don't play it as much as I should
Dead Space - bought it last summer for $5 after loving it during rental 6 months previously but haven't touched it since owning it
RE5 - hate that single player is gimped because of co-op but still want to play
Red Faction Guerrilla - I keep playing it for a week every couple months but can't seem to hold steady

Racing games:
Grid + Dirt

RPGs in general:
Fallout 3 DLC - haven't touched it after beating the game
Shivering Isles - same as above
Dragon Age - I'm still in Lothering early in the game
Two Worlds - Hey, I liked it

JRPGs - I haven't beaten a single one yet this generation despite owning most of them:

Enchanted Arms
Blue Dragon - this will be the next one I really focus on
Tales of Vesperia - haven't even started it yet
Infinite Undiscovery
The Last Remnant
Star Ocean The Last Hope

So many other games that I'm not even thinking about. Right now I'm focusing on Demon's Souls while dabbling slightly in Prototype.

Umm, isn't pile of shame usually qualified as games you own but haven't gotten around to playing? I don't think games like Alan Wake that came out this(?) week qualify

Darksiders - I come around to this once a month or so.
Demon Souls - Understandable why this would be put on the backburner
Dragon Age -Just not motivated to play through it, for some reason
Fallout 3 - Close to the end, I think
Persona 4 - Hi, Liquid
Valkyria Chronicles - Something I pick away at every now and then

RPG Hell (Where unfinished JRPGs go to die, and maybe some day in the future get played)
Blue Dragon
Final Fantasy XIII - Far, far into the future when no other games are available to play.
Lost Odyssey - Up to Disc 4!
Infinite Undiscovery

I'll limit mine to games that I actually own, and I'm also limiting it to PC only. Even then my pile of shame stretches back more than a decade:

Deus Ex
The Witcher
STALKER
STALKER: Clear Sky
X3
Assassin's Creed
Mass Effect
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic
Hitman - all three games
Sanitarium
Mirror's Edge
Overlord 1 & 2 (especially shameful since Triumph Studios is one of my favorite developers)
Penumbra - all three games
Runaway & Runaway 2
Sacred
Spellforce 2
Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Legends, and Underworld
The Void
Zombie Driver

Games I've played at least a little but would like to actually finish:

Aquaria
Batman: AA
Fallout 3
Oblivion
Titan Quest
Bioshock
Half-Life 2 + Episodes
Company of Heroes campaigns
Darwinia
King's Bounty
Mount & Blade
Plants vs Zombies
Red Faction: Guerilla
Torchlight (I'm on the second to last level!)
Trine
Tropico 3
X-Com, et al

I could list several more, but I was trying to keep the list short.

I pulled all of those (except Sanitarium) from Steam. I didn't even bother going through my boxes of games on disc.

You mofos that keep putting Demon's Souls aside need to shape up! I know this because I beat the first boss when the game was launched, then put the game aside until last month--that's over 6 months of letting it sit on my shelf. I moved the PS3 from the living room tv (too much of a distraction when the family is in the room to play DS) to my gaming tv recently, decided to play DS finally and wound up getting better and beating a ton of bosses. I still have most of Latria to go through, as well as level 5, but that's it.

I know people put it aside because it's hard, but if you farm enough souls (fight enemies and leave a level via Evacuation miracle or just running back to beginning) you can upgrade weapons and also your levels. I went from being scared to play it to being confident--it doesn't feel hard for me anymore. The health regen ring I found early on really helped me as well.

So as a past transgressor, take my advice and keep playing Demon's Souls! The bosses are the only parts I find challenging, so use a wiki!!

Setting aside the PC, since most of that was covered in the Steam thread a few weeks back (excepting Wolfenstein 2009):

Burnout: Paradise
GTA IV (sold)
Trauma Centre: New Blood
SMG 1
Dragon Age
AC2
CoD 4 (yes, for real)
PGR 3
Stranglehold (ok, not really, but it's unplayed)
Fable II
Far Cry 2

For the games that have yet to be released, I know that I won't play them when they come out due to me being a cheap bastard. I rarely pay $60 for a game and since I am extremely picky on what games I do buy, it means that the ones of middling to high interest come onto this list.

I took a lot of my pile and sold it. I was tired of looking at games that I thought I was going to start. I still have to much to play.

This is part of my list. Although 3DDGH isn't my fault. My PS3 refuses to run the game.

My RPG hell is a backlog of PS2 JRPGs I have sitting in a trunk. I need to stop sifting through the $10 and under bin at Gamestop.
