In all seriousness. Most of them basically say what we do.
But we write a 7 sentence explanation for rage.

They say RAGE and paste a pic.

Some would call that efficiency.

Happy to see that I'm quite efficient. Haven't spent any time at GAF though BUT if everyone there is as efficient as I am, then it has to be an amazing place full of wondrous sights and sounds.

Hah! I genuinely made myself laugh at that.
It can't be Halo, but it can be similar and called something else. Like, Angel Crown.

Haha, no. Go take a stroll there, tell me what you see.

It's almost a perfect example of why gamers are treated they way they are.

Good for Bungie. Ten years to make whatever they want without having to worry about finding a publisher.

People who keep whining about Activision making Bungie create certain games failed to read the original post.

As a Halo fan, I'm kinda' pissed about this. My favorite thing about Bungie was just how in-touch they were with gamers, and how well they supported them. And with all the hate with Activision recently, I would think Bungie would stay far away from them since they know how much gamers hate Activision. And a 10-year fucking agreement? Are they fucking crazy? I thought they wanted to free themselves from Halo to do a bunch of different stuff, instead they do two Halo games, and a 10-year prison sentence to do work on this new IP.

And I wonder why the hell Microsoft turned away the title, Microsoft and Bungie always had a strong relationship.

Bungie isn't really going to have freedom, as Activision controls the money.

Bungie Guy: So we got this idea for an awesome RTS/Action Game!
Activision Ass:...That is a FPS and is the Call of Duty franchise.
Bungie: Well, no it was more of a 3rd person action game.
Acti: Well, it's not happening though, as you don't have money for it.
Bungie: So, Space Marines versus Russians it is.
Acti: Whoa, not Russians, Russian-EXTREMEISTS, we aren't wanting to offend Russia.. and the game is going to be Modern Warfare 4.
Bun: But! Modern Warfare 3 just came out! We can't get a full quality game out in time!
Acti: You bet your ass you will.

Yeah, I don't think Bungie made the smart choice is going with the company that sees creativity and developers with their own ideas as problems.

Yep and Yep...but overall this is a pretty meh announcement. We all knew Bungie was going to need a publisher and you could count the candidates on one hand, so it's not really a shocker that one of them got picked.

I imagine GAF is going insane, but I can't really say I care enough to check.

Boy, to read this thread, you'd think the announcement was that Activision bought Bungie. It seems like 90% of the people posting here don't really understand what this means and, more importantly, does not mean.

Usually publishing deals like this give the publisher first pick of games. If Activision turns down a game from Bungie, it's not like they can't make it and publish it elsewhere.

Shhh. Let the rage spill. Maybe "reason" will have better luck tomorrow.

So all the posts like this have me asking some questions. Is there anyone who knows how gaming contracts work?

I mean, if you're being hired on as a sort of independent developer, can't you just make sure it goes into the contract that something like this doesn't happen? I mean, if we've all thought of these things and most of us have never worked at the industry (especially at this corporate level), I'm positive Bungie has too. Everything they've done with Halo gives them tremendous bargaining power, it's not like they're going to Mr. Magoo their way into a 10-year contract.

Awesome. Now when you buy a Bungie game, you get to support two generic uninspired companies for the price of one.

I wonder if they will use their combined powers of super-mediocrity to design a game about alpha male army dudes with guns attempting to save the earth so all the bros. can shoot shit up and teabag in it.

Maybe you will even be able to circle strafe and back pedal while you shoot and the AI can have exciting dynamic conversations about "coming to get some," "tearing shit up," and waiting for "go time."

Yes. Yes yes yes. Of course, there's always the case whatever happened with Brutal Legend, the details of which remain secret.
