Show us your gun.
After sadly having to liquidate my Russian collection some time ago to make ends meet, I'm now a bit more flush with cash, and have finally been able to acquire a new firearm.
Today I took home a Marlin 336 in .30-30, manufactured circa 1963. Neat old lever action gun, cheapish to shoot, and just looks gorgeous. Whoever the previous owner was they took fine care of it, the barrel is spotless, the stocks have been beautifully refinished, it's just the perfect combination of old gun character and new gun finish. Pictures attached.

I don't have a good picutre of mine handy (and the gun isn't in my apartment) but this one is almost identical.
![]() It's a Weatherby Mk V in .300 Weatherby Magnum. My grandpa willed to me when he died. I've never shot it. I'm probably going to sell it one of these days, as I would never get much use out of it and it's worth quite a bit. It is pretty though. |

Glad I read what this thread was really about. I was about to make MagGnome quite happy.

![]() actually...only the Siaga 410 (the one just left of the AK) and the M4 are mine.... this is an old picture that just happened to be on my computer, a picture I took for some asshattery some years ago...hence the swords. Heh, those Jutte we've had ever since I was a little kid. My dad even made me a pair of Nunchucks. I could be any ninja turtle I wanted. ![]() the only classy things on there would be the Mauser and the p38 on the left, those are actually really nice. Out of the main WWII rifles, we still need the Japanese rifle I think is the only one left. I wish i had a picture of the .45 Ruger revolver the old man got me for Christmas...man it's so nice. BTW, nice find Arcane. I like it.

(I didn't compress these images at all, so it may take a second to load at actual size.)
This is a Type 38 Cavalry, a bolt-action rifle put into service around 1905 by the Japanese military. It was a souvenir of one of my late grandfathers from his time in the war. He also brought back the bayonet that goes with it, along with a katana-style sword that I'm guessing was worn by an officer. The mark you see in the fourth picture is where the then-emperor's emblem - a chrysanthemum - was ground off, indicating that this particular weapon was surrendered after the war rather than captured during the war. The kanji characters next to it say "three eight type," naturally. Many enthusiasts consider the bolt in this rifle to be among the strongest manufactured. Some owners of this type of rifle have been known to "sporterize" them to fire magnum cartridges. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a pre-war Smith & Wesson Military & Police .38. Originally a 6" barrel cut down to 3.5", and custom grips. A relative of mine - I forget exactly who - carried it during his time as a security guard, around the middle of last century. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is a pistol I purchased new, and currently use as my conceal & carry weapon: a Springfield XD Service 9mm. Using the magazine pictured, it can hold up to 17 rounds. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There are a few others, but I can't put hands on them at the moment. Not as interesting anyway, just ordinary shotgun and .22 rifles. Quote:

"Otacon, I've got a light-equipped USP... I can take them on now."
Very fun gun to shoot, especially with the laser, although it doesn't stay calibrated after 20-30 shots. ![]() Okay so mine's not nearly as impressive as everyone else's so far, although I do have an old Marlin 30-30 at the 'rents place, but it's not in the shape that JArcane's is.

Snazzy. .45 I assume? I'd like to add a .45 to my collection, but I've been holding out until I could afford one in a 1911 design.

I've always been pro guns, and had an interest in them and their designs over the years (rifles especially) but personally I'd never really own one. Besides, now that I'm in Canada you have to jump through hoops just for a rifle. I don't think general public can even own a pistol or semi-automatic weapon.

Boo to that.
![]() It can be some work. There have definitely been days that I've spent at least as much time cleaning and oiling as shooting. CCW licensing was a smart thing to do. Aside from the obvious, it also enabled me to walk into any store in the state and walk out with whatever I wanted, as I understand. Last edited by Vigil80; 04-15-2010 at 07:06 PM. |

If I can ever afford one, I'd love to get a Mk23 in .45 though (which is the only caliber offered I believe). Call me an H&K whore, but they make damn good shit.

damn, I hope we can find a type 38 in that nice of shape WITH the bayonet like that for a reasonable price. From what I've been told, some years ago they were really easy to come by, almost as easy as it is the acquire a Nagant (which that gun closely resembles) Our AK, btw I'm pretty sure is of Chinese manufacture. It has the spike-type folding bayonet on the end and If I remember correctly a few Chinese symbols on the side of the receiver. It's probably a Type-56.

I looked into setting myself up a number of years ago and just couldn't afford it at the time, but I really want to start a collection. I'm currently saving my money for an epic PAX adventure, and I have a bit of drought coming up over summer holidays (I work in a school) but after all of that I really think I'm gonna just bite the bullet and get it done.I have some really nice airsoft guns, but nobody wants to see those

I've made my stance on gun/rifle ownership pretty clear 'round these parts. That said, that rifle is fucking gorgeous J. Worthy of mounting on a wall gorgeous.

Well while I personally don't own any firearms, a good friend of mine has a father-in-law who is quite the gun enthusiast. He invited us out to his place to shoot some of them. I took my camera.
The quality was rather poor. I have a nice camera, but had yet to be introduced to the beauty that is Final Cut Pro. Anyways, a couple of years later he invited us back, and again I took my camera. GEEKS WITH GUNS 2! Its shorter, but I never quite got around to editing the rest of the footage from the second day. Had to post it on Vimeo because of the song. The hype at the beginning is just a bit of joke amongst my friends. |

I'm 18 now, thankyouverymuch. And these are just the guns in my house, not specifically mine. We also have a Nighthawk Custom 1911 and a .22 rifle but I don't have pictures of them.
