Resonance of Fate Reviewed
This is the first review I've seen, I believe it's based on the Japanese version, and at the very least the game now has my interest. It's from RPGFan, a site I've read on and off for years now, so I respect the opinions of their reviewers at the very least.
My one concern with the game (as with all Tri-Ace games), the battle system, gets some high praise, so that's a good start. I tried the Japanese demo, but that was a clusterfuck without being able to understand what was actually going on. So yeah, now I'm interested. The review is a good read.

Gotta admit, that review made me go from barely being aware of this game to fairly interested in it. I'll be watching for other reviews.

I love me some Tri-Ace usually, so hopefully this is one of the gen's best JRPGs yet.
But why the hell are JRPGs always names so ridiculously. This one isn't so bad really, but it does follow the typical naming formula.

It's the wording usually. The choice of words rather than the "of" formula.

Let's hear some impressions. This game sounds like fun. It has some weird things in it like towns and merchants. Oh and very few cut scenes. Scary thought for FF fans. And the reason I am really interested in the game.

The reviews have been generally positive that I've seen.
GamesRadar Eurogamer It's also got Nolan North as a voice actor, who doesn't want to play an RPG as Nathan Drake? Depending on reviews and impressions around here (if anyone even picks it up) I may grab it once I finish Final Fantasy XIII and God of War 3.

Always ready!

I hadn't really given this one much thought. The wacky name just made me think this was going to be very standard JRPG fare, but now I'm fairly intrigued. I really like the Steampunk setting too.

Bought it today. Out of the 4 GameStop locations in my city, only two of them had copies, and only two each (one for each system). Best Buy had nothing, Toys R Us had nothing, Wal-Mart had nothing, etc. So I think its safe to assume this one will be hard to come by real soon.
A couple hours in and I am enjoying it. They haven't done much so far to explain who the heroes are, how they know each other, or why they started their business together. I guess that will come with time? I know jrpgs all tend to start out pretty slowly. Great music, very unique and fun battle system, and the voice acting/writing is decent enough to make me smile from time to time. I'd say if you want this game, start checking availability in your area. I'll be talking about it on The Moofcast tonight and piping in some of the game's music as well. Should be up tomorrow in the late morning.

GameTrailers Review:
Damn, that sounds good. EDIT: Essentially they complain about the story (I doubt that would bother me since I usually enjoy JRPG stories, even the "bad" stories) but say the battle system is fun and quite complex. They also say the game is pretty damn hard with a lot of side quests, two more large positives. I'm going to have to try to get this sooner than I was planning.

Sounds interesting, will rent it later down the road but right now I'm kinda' pissed off at FF13 so I'm going to wait for a bit before I play another JRPG.

Got it and right off the bat I like it more than FFXIII. You start out in a town where you can interact with a dozen or so people - some of who give you QUESTS to do! You can even switch which character you're controlling lol
The battle system seems pretty deep right off the bat. I did all the combat tutorials in the arena and understand most of the combat system, but it seems like there's more to come with leveling as well. It doesn't have the flashy cutscenes, but I put those pretty low on the importance scale for a game anyway. |

I often wondered about the whole atelier series. Is atelier an actual word? Ive never heard of it. Sometimes it sounds like they just use a random name generator. Maybe some titles have a special/different meaning in japanese that gets lost in translation.
