In Other News...February 16
- Sony will apparently be debuting their new motion controller at the Game Developers Conference on March 11 in San Francisco.
- Ubisoft will be releasing Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on May 18. Coincidentally the big screen Prince of Persia movie will open in theaters a week later. Funny how that works out. - Nearly two months after it's release, Darksiders will be getting a demo next week. And it's a biggie, comprising the whole first dungeon it should take about 90 minutes to complete. - Street Fighter IV is headed to the iPhone. The controls will be simplified to a virtual joystick and 4 attack buttons. It will hit the App Store in March. - The boys at Aeropause ask: if Microsoft won't support PC Gaming, why should anyone else? - Cartoon Network will be extending Adult Swim one hour starting in January. The wacky madness will then begin at 9PM Eastern time. |

Looking forward to that Darksiders demo, I must say. Also a little interested to see what'll come of Sony's controller (even if I'm not setting my sights too high).

Besides, with Sony finally gaining momentum with the PS3, I can see why they would want to try and bolster the 360's exclusives list. Plus, the PC will be busy enough this fall for anyone to even care. This just seems to be more of the same old "Evil Empire of Microsoft" I hear so much about. It's business, and it sucks, but it's certainly not the end of the world.

Yeah, but the first time Sony shows something, it's WAY more than they deliver. Remember how the PS2 would be able to deliver the same quality that you saw in Final Fantasy 8's FMVs?
In March, they should be able to show it running real games. Especially since it was originally announced to LAUNCH in Spring. Quote:
Edit: I looked it up. Seems that it takes place between Sands of Time and Warrior Within. Probably explains how he went from being awesome to being a douche. Last edited by Mike Kelehan; 02-16-2010 at 10:41 PM. |

The argument that MS is not doing anything to support PC gaming (other than having the de facto OS) is valid. His questioning as to why any one else should support PC gaming if MS does not is asinine.
I am looking forward to that Darksiders demo; might get me to buy. |

Mike, the comparison I remember was that the PS2 would deliver "Toy Story graphics". Actually, with that DX11 screen up there on the main page looking all pretty, I wonder how far off we are from Toy Story. It's been a long time since I saw the first Toy Story, but I feel like we may be there.

![]() I'm with you Mr. PC Gnome. I'm not even a hardcore PC gamer and I roll my eyes at a veiled "PC gaming is dead" vibe. MS not supporting PC gaming? And? Lots of others will keep supporting it. PC gaming I believe is well diversified which includes for me the "casual" side of games with stuff from PoP Cap and future gaming via Facebook. You don't have to like either option but PC gaming doesn't need MS to live.

Actually MS not doing anything for PC gaming might be a good thing if the shitty GFWL service is an example of how they would like PC gaming to go. All I want from MS is a stable OS and then get the fuck out of the way of the other studios that actually make good games.

For some reason I only seem to be able to actually login to GFWL maybe 1 in 4 times when I play Bioshock 2. Keep in mind, this is the same account (Gold, no less!) I use for XBL, and that hardly ever has an issue.

That is awesome that Adult Swim is getting extended. They just need to boot King of the Hill out of the lineup and it would be perfect.

What I meant was that it just did not seem like a game that most would have bought for the PC anyway. There's nothing wrong with the PC, and no, it's not dying or dead. I do see how people would get that idea though, because of the overreactions that some overzealous PC gamers have when a company does something they don't like. But then again it could just seem that way, because of their gaming hobby of preference happens to be the same thing most sane people use to navigate the internet. So of course this is the first logical place to vent frustration, where it can get the most attention. But still, I didn't mean to offend anyone, especially since I play games on my PC everyday. I just never thought that the PC gaming crowd really had any interest in the game until it was being pulled off the platform.

Dear Internet,

That is almost always the case with multi-platform games. But it doesn't mean that people who game only on PC's need be left out.

I'm not saying that it's right, either. I just felt that people were being over dramatic with this.

On the contrary, back when the game was announced (five years ago?) it drummed up a lot of excitement in the PC community. I'm pretty sure that the game started as a PC exclusive. Remedy was a very popular developer at the time, having released Max Payne and Max Payne 2, and the demo videos for Alan Wake looked fantastic.
