The Grinder Goes Multiplatform
You remember The Grinder, don't you? If you don't here's a refresher: developed by High Voltage Studios (The Conduit, Gladiator A.D.) the game is best described as Left 4 Dead with vampires and werewolves. So of course the developer had it slated as a Wii exclusive. Why do I bring all this up? Because High Voltage has announced that The Grinder will go multiplatform, hitting the PS3, 360, PC and Wii in October of 2011. Check out the new trailer above, and expect more info on the game at next month's GDC. Sources - IGN; Joystiq. |

Given how poorly received The Conduit was I still don't care. If it turns out to be great, fantastic, but my expectations are pretty low at this point.

Makes sense. Making this Wii-only would be incredibly silly. And probably wind up with the game being an instant bomb.

Current speculation is that this lends more credibility to the theory of the Wii-HD coming out possibly this year. I doubt HVS would create a multi-platform game by making separate SD assets for the Wii and HD assets for the 360/PS3. That's a lot of work. More likely they're just creating one HD set of assets, and porting amongst all four platforms.

That'd be interesting, Setebos, but I'm still a little skeptical. Even if they don't, though, I'll still probably play it on the Nintendo Wii - I really like the controller when it comes to first-person shooters, even at the expense of graphics (and lack of Trophies).

Interesting...but hasn't it already been in development for almost a year? And if so, why on earth is it going to take nearly another two years to come out? I can understand probably scrapping a part of the project and focusing on multi-platform development...but I guess this is where my ignorance shows. I wouldn't think it would take THAT long to do it.

Jesus, October 2011? Is it going to be on the PS4 as well?
