WeekDAY gaming(12/14/09)- What are you (still) playing?

Oh the bells. School bells, church bells, sleigh bells, silver bells, holly bells, jingle bell balls...and the weekday bell...the gong tolls for thee...weekend. So weekend you have been gonged, move over for the new talent in town. WeekDay you have some big days to fill. Meanwhile, for the working joes back behind the desk you go (or wherever you truly belong at work). As for the hobo existing like students (like myself) well it’s time for gaming, naps, boxing away the textbooks until next year. And for those in neither group, well enjoy your week and we’ll all regroup back at the end of the week.

Goals for the weekend: Play some games and then play more games and some more after that. Dreams of gaming marathons danced in my head. The only dreams I had were of the shattered kind. What I didn’t play and did:

GTA:CTW
Dreamkiller
Civilization III
Batman Arkham Asylum
Left4Dead
Shellshock 2
The Saboteur
Assassins Creed 2 – Collecting, collecting, collecting…and an assassination. I keep playing at this pace I’ll break my personal record for time played in a game from Persona 3.
Persona 4- Brave but stupid to think I would tackle the first “boss” without much leveling up. I don’t think that is a strategy that will work to much longer but somehow I squeaked by the first boss.
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Persona

My gaming marathon = complete bust. The positive, I’ll get a passing grade in my internship since I spend a day finishing stupid paperwork. The rest of the weekend spent fa la la ing to xmas decorating. I’m hoping the real gaming will begin now.

Show me up and detail your gaming weekend. What did you play? Then show me up more on details of your up coming weekday gaming.

I have been playing a bunch of Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes for the DS. Super addicting and highly recommended. If you like games like Puzzle Quest then Clash of Heroes is a no-brainer, and I find it much more fun than I did PQ.

Other than that, I didn't really play too much this weekend. Only one more week until Christmas vacation though!

Congrats on the passing grade at least Purple. More important stuff is more important:P

I played AC2 as well, collecting, collecting, collecting. No idea why I'm going after all those chests, I'm swimming in cash right now. Just to have a reason to climb shit I guess.

Pixeljunk Shoote
r. Which is awesome. I'm taking it easy though, I heard it's not that big so don't want to burn through it.

A bit of Critter Crunch/ Ratchet TIC

And the Dante's inferno demo five times or so. God of War clone which actually felt better gamepolay wise than the GoW3 demo.

This week: MM:Clash of Heroes when I'm commuting. AC2.

Fallout 3 F3 is all I really played this weekend, though not on purpose. I didn't play too much, just finished Operation Anchorage and a few quests. I'm almost level 17 now, this morning I came across the Anchorage memorial and this guy living in a building with two women in their underwear......

I also went to the Bucs-Jets game yesterday and got to watch the Bucs get their asses handed to them once again. 10 freakin' total yards in the first half. Seriously.

This week I plan on continuing my trek through Final Fantasy Tactics and Fallout 3, though F3 may get a bit of a break for Persona 4. Or, for some weird reason, I feel like cracking open Tomb Raider Underworld. Maybe. I don't know, I think I need some variety to get away from F3, I guess it depends on my mood.

Inotia: A Wanderer of Luone
NCAA Basketball 09
Machinarium

I'm going to start the list where I left it this weekend. Inotia: A Wanderer of Luone is turning out to be a fun game. It has a little grinding, a lot of quests and several items to collect and combine.

I plan to finish up Machinarium this week. I'm not sure what took me so long to start playing this one. I loved the demo and it was featured in one of Spigots TTS and it still took this long for it to click. It's clicking now.

I'm playing a dynasty on NCAA so I doubt I am going to continue to list it each week. Honestly, all playing a NCAA basketball game did is make me realize I would rather be playing a NCAA football game if I am going to play a sports game. I may try to pick up NCAA Football 10 on the cheap.

As a former substitute teacher, I say use your vacation, enjoy it...cause it's a long haul to easter break I loved teaching but enjoyed the breaks immensely.

I kept telling myself that as I look longingly at my consoles. And typing up all that paperwork on my laptop made it to easy to surf the 'net. Procrastination was the most played game of the weekend.

I approve of the use of TR:Underworld as a distraction of any kind

And the guy with the ladies in their underwear...if it's the quest i'm thinking about..now there was some interesting living situations/reasons from the aftermath of the apocalypse.

I beat 50 Cent Blood on the Sand and Kane and Lynch over the weekend. The reviews call 50 Cent a solid action game but I liked Kane and Lynch MUCH more. It was probably the subject material, however. 50 Cent was about a mentally handicapped rapper shooting middle eastern people. I thought Kane and Lynch had a better story and presentation. I don't know how I'd score it though. A 7/10 maybe. It is definitely different.

Today I'm going to have a few hours alone because my mother and wife are taking my son and nephew to get their picture's done. I'll pop in Dragon Age while they're away. I HOPE, anyway. I don't want to be distracted by a lesser game at this point.

And I'm close to 50k gamerscore. I wonder which game will push me over that mark. I'd be well over it now had I not bought some games for PS3 that had achievements for 360, like Matt Hazard. I hope Dragon Age is the game that achieves the milestone--because I would like to have a great game get there. I only have a couple hundred, if that, to go.

I didn't play a single game this weekend, not one. I was rather busy with the following:

New PC - I put my new rig together on Saturday. I started in the early afternoon and finished at 3am, with a couple of breaks in between. I ran into some issues, learned a lot, and overall really enjoyed the process. I'm glad I decided to go down this road instead of buying a pre-made system!

Downloading Games - I downloaded Aquaria, Plants Vs Zombies, Civilization IV and expansions, The Wonderful End of the World, Samarost 2, and Batman: AA from Steam. Batman is over 8GBs and took over twelve hours to download on my puny Internet connection.

Dating - I went on two dates with two different guys this weekend. I feel like such a stud.

Cleaning - I did some laundry and got my desk cleared off. I'm going to move the new PC over to the desk tonight after work.

I wish I had gotten in some gaming on the new rig this past weekend, but alas it was not to be. I will definitely play Batman, Civ IV, and Aquaria this week. I'm looking forward to running them in all of their glory, not that my previous system couldn't handle Aquaria.

Oh, and for those wondering, COG looks fantastic on the new rig.

At least your team didn't lose back-to-back games to the Raiders and Browns.

Grats on the new PC. How does Sins look on it? I'm jealous, I haven't been on a real date in 2 years.

My enthusiasm for gaming has ebbed somwhat, so it was an anime weekend: Shikabane Hime, KissXSis, Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu, and Dragonaut the Resonance.

I did play a little Plants vs. Zombies, growing my zen garden and playing survival modes; also played some PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe.

This week I'm hoping to watch Canaan and Mnemosyne. I'm also hoping to get in some Dragon Age and Prototype.

The Bucs have won 1 game over the past 17 counting last year. There's a reason that when the games are on now I just turn on the PSP and have them on in the background. I was hoping for something to cheer for the entire game, it's not often that I get the chance to go to one, but it just didn't happen.

That being said, it reminded me how much I love going to games, and in a few years when my wife is working again (the kids will be in school) I'd love to get season tickets and take the kids. That would be great.

Assassin's Creed - if 2 is a quantum leap forward, I may not need to buy anymore games for the next year or so. I've dumped hours into this thing and have just wrapped up my investigation for the third hit.

Finally found the last flag in Masyaf. Now to find the other HAJILLION flags elsewhere. That and hunting Templars (those guys are tough in a straight fight).

L4D2 my son and I played through Hard Rain this weekend. He's getting to be quite the sharpshooter. *sniff* So very proud.

Torchlight - my daughter, my son and I all took turns with this on the weekend. We're playing each of the three classes and passing back and forth items as we go. The community chest in the main town was brilliance! Brilliance I say!

I wish I could go through games like you do. It's a skill I never had. Then i'd be able to get rid of this backlog that I have, this mini-tower of games that I had to move recently to a new holding spot. What a pain. I looked through them and know i'll not likely get to many of them until 2011...

Congrats on getting to 50k. Give it another 6 months, Mags will match that with his CoG postings

And your liking of Kane and Lynch...sometimes you are like the psychotic brother I didn't have. Or maybe you are and I don't know...i'll almost give any game a second chance if someone around here liked it enough. K&L...no...

I think I would of drank myself to death if a download took 12 hours. I live with gunshots, people killed in their driveways, drug selling..but I have great internet connection. I won't be complaining anytime soon about where I live

Well i'd like to do a simpsons "ha ha" since i'm an x-"new yawker" and loved following the miserable Jets. But they are the Jets...there is never reason for a "ha ha" even when they win Although the new QB has a great future...I remember when the NY Press tried to run Eli out of town too...morons...

Progressing in Arkham Asylum, and pugging heroic instances in WoW, that is pretty much what is on my plate for the week. Applied for a couple of jobs this morning, so I'm hoping I'll hear from them sometime soon.

Well, let's see:

Devil Summoner (PS2): Episode 11, baby! My play session was a *pain* though - I did these two challenges (of three) you have to go through to be able to summon one of the hidden 'ubersummons' in the game. Massive unending swarm of enemies. Not fun. I tried the thrid and got killed - I'll have to come back later, if at all.

Chronicles of Riddick Dark Athena (PC): I purchased this on one of the Steam deals, and I'd like to finish it off.

Samarost 2 (PC): Picked this up, going to play it when I have time.

Mario and Luigi Inside Bowser (DS): I was originally going to spend my DS time on Nostalgia, but I got so damn BORED with it I gave it up. If I really want to play a retro RPG I'll go back to Suikoden, thanks. So I've dropped this in my DS and am enjoying the silliness.
