Dice & Accessories

I need more dice. I only have one set. It's time to collect a few more, but I'm rather picky.

I really want metal dice for some reason, or even bone, but they only seem to come in smaller than standard sizes - except for the single large metal d20s that you can buy by themselves.

Anyone happen to know a good place to shop for some "novelty" dice sets?

I own a set of solid pewter dice. My friends made me stop using them because I'd nick their table every time

Watch out. Alot of the metal dice are not metal at all but just painted. If that matters to you.

I want some Gamescience dice so bad. I keep meaning to order some but I never get around to it. I think last I checked Noble Knight had a decent selection of them, and I think Chessex was selling them for a while.

In fact, I was thinking about it earlier and after seeing those videos, I sort-of feel like I'm being cheated when I'm rolling the dice I have.

Damn, yeah, I could go with some gamescience dice now. And really, they're not *that* much more expensive, unless you really need a ton of one type or another. $20, maybe, to get a set plus some extra dice for systems that need them (d10s, d6s, etc).

I bought some of the Game Science dice a while back. They were sort of hit-and-miss, some of the sets felt more "precise" than others, like they used different quality plastic.

Still, I like the feel of the dice, more because they remind me of the old-school dice that game with D&D in ye olde days.

Apparently, the newer Chessex Gamescience stuff is made with much cheaper plastic than the original GS dice. As one RPGsite poster put it, the old dice you could put in a wrist rocket and fire at a concrete wall, and they'd survive. The Chessex one wouldn't.

And the reason they remind you of the old dice that came with D&D, is because the dice they used to put in D&D sets were Gamescience dice.

I was wondering if the was a horror story there because I'm seriously looking at some of those bulk dice packages in the link.
