Video of Next Mercenaries Game Leaked

While Pandemic Studios has closed, it's properties live on. The video above is purported to be from the next game in the Mercenaries franchise, now in development at EA Los Angeles.

Based on the video, and other assorted leaks, Mercs Inc appears to be a more multiplayer take on the Mercenaries series. While the other two games in the series had 2 player co-op, this one seems to involve 4 player co-op as well as competitive MP. The former Pandemic employee who posted the video, which was for internal use only and is taken from early builds of the game, describes it as a "multiplayer sandbox game."

Looks interesting. Adds credence to the rumors that Pandemic was a mess on the manager level. Only thing that sucks is that 200 people had to lose their jobs and I don't think EA gave them a relocation plan.

Considering that is a very early build, looks like it might be fun to play. I especially liked the part where the car ran over the 3 guys tea bagging their fresh kill.

I had a blast playing the last Mercs game on PC, seems like that was just last year. I seem to recall lots of complaints about the graphics but I found them adequate to the task. Gameplay itself was excellent.

mercs 1 and 2 were great (solo and co-op) but how is this not just a reskinned mercs2 with 4player co-op. Pass.

Pandemic never made any Great games, they just managed to get open-world destruction done first. Other studios did what they did better and Pandemic stopped making better games. Maybe Saboteur would have been a great game and redeemed Pandemic and then I'd feel bad the studio is gone.

I do feel bad for the people who lost their jobs, as this is the worst time of year to lose a job, not like there is ever a good time.

Looks fun, but Mercs2 was more of a 1.5 rather than sequel. Still fun as hell so no doubt this would be too. I would just hope they'd expand on it.

EA did say they are still holding properties to possibly make games. Now they also said they will be eliminating some franchises next year. I hope Mercs2 sold well to give this reason to be finished and released.

I disagree. The original Mercenaries and original Star Wars Battlefront were great for their time. In my opinion. But I'm shallow that way.

I think competitive multiplayer GTA-style games would be fun, but it seems like we haven't really gotten one yet. At least not since the original GTA, which was far too much for my shitty dial-up connection at the time.
