I really, really, really hope that all of my instincts are wrong, and this game kicks all sorts of ass.

Normally I would pick something like this up, but that is too damn much money. I would like the posters and art book. But the content here is no where near what you got with Persona 4 and P4 was much less.

I really really really want to buy a CE for the first time in 4 years. Fucking awesome.

I hope I can get this.

Persona 4 came with an artbook and a soundtrack.

EDIT: Wait, never mind, it just came with the soundtrack.

Same here. I loved the first game, but I have my doubts about this game. The last few gameplay videos I've seen have started to win me over, but I'm still incredibly leery of the possibility of it living up to the first game. I'm hoping for a demo to help ease or confirm my fears.

If there was a Big Sister figure to go along with the Big Daddy, I could see it being worth that. But the art book is definitely worth $35 alone, so I guess it makes up for it. But no matching figure, for shame.

remove the vinyl, drop it $20 and I'd buy it.

Dammit, those are some great bonuses. They honestly look better than what I've seen of the game itself so far...

Agreed.

P4 gave you the option to buy extra content separately which combined with the game, was much less than $100. It included an art book, calender, T-shirt, extra soundtrack, and a stuffed "Teddy". Good stuff. BioShock 2 comes no where near the content and considerably more in price. It's called gouging.

Exactly. Way too expensive, and who the heck has a record player nowadays?!

I think that's me. It's nice for the better sound and art, but 99% of the time I still listen to either cd (in car) or mp3 (at home and work).

Yea, I assumed that is what you were getting at, but it's also worth pointing out that the Social Link Pack was sold out long before the game itself was released and most people didn't even get the chance to get one. Where as, if this is like any other collector's edition of late, it will be sitting around for months until shops lower the price in order to get rid of them for space purposes.

People who appreciate good music.

One thing that really pisses me off about including posters with games is they are always folded with really sharp creases and crammed into the box, making them totally useless for framing and display. Such a waste. *edit* I see in the other thread for Bioshock 2 that the posters are rolled, finally someone gets it!

And I haven't had anything that plays vinyl since '90. Would have rather had a Little Sister to go with my Big Daddy.

Looking forward to the game though, loved the atmosphere and art style from the first, so another chance to walk around there sounds fun.

Not everybody wants those ugly 2 sizes too big for me T-Shirts:P

Also P4, as a game was like half the price of a normal 360 game when I bought it new online, so that should be taken into account. It's a PS2 game.

I think the vinyl is fucking classy. And that deco style artbook is worth it for me alone.

My illogical taste for pre-order goodies tend to be for the plushie/figurine CEs. I was really hoping...ok, fantasizing about another BS statue like the first. Not pulling the trigger on this CE yet...

BioShock orchestral score on vinyl 180g LP
That is....

OMG my mind is completely blown by the fact that they're including that.. Not just vinyl, but properly heavy vinyl to boot. Too fucking classy.

I would love to have been a fly on the wall of the meetings that brought that decision about. I wonder who the audiophile is on the team..

EDIT: and to those of you wondering WTF it's doing there, or decrying your lack of turntables: It's an object; you don't have to listen to it -- that's what the CD is for!

But if you seriously can't figure out why an LP is a perfect addition to a box of what is essentially Rapture memorabilia, then it's no wonder you philistines lack the machinery to make use of it in the first place

One of the first CE bonuses I have ever seen that impresses me. Figurines and t-shirts? Things that would only go in the garbage. Guess that;s why I never buy the CE.
