I haven't seen NortonHulk.

However, I would easily put Cap down towards the bottom of the list, though perhaps still above Iron Man 2.

Iron Man was an instant classic, and Thor shows Branagh's craft well and makes for a tight story with a good arc (other than that bullshit love story part).

Cap is kind of a mess though, from a film making stand point. It stands on the strengths of it's actors and little else. The film is disjointed, meandering, and repetitive, and it's chief villain spends too little time out of the fight to be a believable threat.

However, while it got close a time or two, it never became outright fucking boring like Iron Man 2 did, nor did it have anything in it so retarded as Mickey Rourke playing a Russian dude with shock whips.

so I think my order probably goes something like:

1. Iron Man
2. Thor
3. Captain America
4. Iron Man 2.

Tight is the exact opposite of what Thor's script was. It was a mess. Is it another time I lament the fact that we never got to see the real NortonHulk!

I couldn't disagree more. I felt the film showed as well as a film can in less than two hours a nice arc between asshole Thor, and noble hero Thor, and the journey between those two points.

It is an arc that would've held up better in serial, but it serves its goals well, and it's supported by some decent performances, quality directing from one of the greats, and some of the most amazing production design I've seen in a genre film since Hellboy 2.

Amazing production design? Jotunheim looked like it was out of an Asylum production. Same with the fake small-town they set up. There was also Loki's motivations, which despite the best efforts of the actor, never seemed clear. It seemed less a like a complete movie, and more like a lead-in to the Avengers, unlike Iron Man and Incredible Hulk.

Thor could've been better if it had ditched the unnecessary romance. Trying and failing to build that up and make it believable took time away from developing both Loki's motivation and Thor's character arc. Give me more time with Thor interacting with small town mortals other than the hot female lead.

I agree that the Portman romance was the weakest part of the film. It just feels forced, like it's there to be a romance because there's supposed to be one somehow.
