Rumor: LBP delayed for 2-4 weeks in Europe

I haven't seen this reported anywhere yet, but in Sweden one store has now posted that the game will be delayed for a few weeks in Europe, due to a misprint.

This sucks big time, since this was THE game I was looking forward to getting for my birthday next week.

It's official. I'd look into importing.

What was the misprint, I wonder?

Send a message via Skype™ to DangerousDaze
Gives us time to play Dead Space. I wonder if that was intentional?

Joystiq is reporting the delay/recall might have something to do with a mistake the devs made in placing Qu'ran text together with some music - a big no-no, apparently.

Muslims don't listen to music?

This post was supposed to be a part of my previous post...how did it separate? WEIRD!

I think it has more to do with pairing text from the Qu'ran and music. Don't ask me, I'm a godless heathen.

Nah, the EU is just afraid of offending the Muslim, music phobic, fundamentalist PS3 owner. Cos, you know, there are so many of those.

SCEE has supplied us with the official statement on the situation regarding LittleBigPlanet…

During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

We will confirm the new launch date shortly.

We’ll keep you updated with further information as soon as we get it.

UPDATE

We’ve just been informed by SCEE that the delay to release is effective worldwide.
Worldwide?
