Valkyria Chronicles $20 at Walmart

Walmart.com product page

It's OOS online, but you can enter your zipcode to see if it's in stock at a store in your area.

Found on CAG.

I don't think there are any in-stock near me but I'll be sure and check around none-the-less. Walmart's store search has always been pretty crappy for me. Despite there being at least 10 Walmarts within 20-30 minutes of me there website often insists there is only one store within 100 miles of my search. Yet if I search by a neighboring city or zip code there different stores listed.

The minute the release it on 360, Suave, is the minute I pick it up.

Nope.

Everyone capable of playing the game needs to go get this, it will be the best $20 you'll ever spend.

I just checked online and 1 Wal-Mart near me says it's in stock. I called to verify, because it's 15 minutes each way and I have kids to take care of. The call went like this.

Me: Hello. Electronics Dept. please.
Operator: Hold Please.

ring. ring.

Wal-Mart: Lawn & Garden.
Me: I need Electronics please.
Wal-Mart: This is Lawn & Garden.
Me: Ok. Could you transfer me to Electronics please?
Wal-Mart: Hold.

Ring. Ring. Ring. 5 minutes of nothing. I call back.

Operator: Wal-Mart.
Me: Electronics please.

I now hold for 15 minutes. 3 times the same operator says "hello, wal-mart" to me. The third time I ask for a CSM (customer service manager). She says : Hold.

Wal-Mart: Register 20.
Me: I need a CSM to check availability on a PS3 game please.
Wal-Mart: Why did you call register 20?
Me: I didn't. Can a CSM look for me?
Wal-Mart: Hold.

2 minutes. (not bad)

Wal-Mart: Hello?
Me: I am trying to get a CSM to check availability of a PS3 game because Electronics is not answering.
Wal-Mart: I can't do that. Call back and ask for an Assistant Manager.

At this point even if I DID talk to someone and they told me they didn't have the game I would still go check. I await my wife's return to do so.

I worked at a Wal-Mart for a short, short amount of time. I am neither upset nor surprised by my experience.

Awesome.
I'll be getting mine tonight.
This is the deal I've been waiting for!

EDIT: I worked there for 2 years and some change. Most of the folks there don't understand phones very much. Next time, have them transfer you to the Connection Center or the Photolab, people there will also go check for you.

Dude! Great call on the photo lab! I forgot about that. They are right next to electronics and usually have some of the "smarter" folks working there....

As great of a deal as this is, I would NEVER, EVER set foot in a Wal-Mart, even for a great game like this.

I guess it doesn't help that I don't have a PS3.

But still...Wal-Mart? No.

I'm wondering if Best Buy will match the price. They gave me two free games when I bought my PS3 after showing them that Target offered a bundle they didn't have.

Does anyone know if the game has to be in stock for Best Buy to match it? Wal-Mart shows it as out of stock.

I know my local Walmart has Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds, Oblivion, and a large metal bin full of under $20 games.

Dude, just try it. If they say no, politely ask for a manager. Don't be rude, just throw out the "I'd much rather bring my business here than Wal-Mart line, and I do for most of my electronic purchases, but if they're willing to give me better deals...".

Play the system for all it's worth, man.
