CoG Crashes Pre-PAX Buffet of Games at Microsoft

Around a hundred lucky press and community individuals were invited to Microsoft Thursday afternoon to partake of a bevy of shiny new gaming goodness. On hand was a list of either recent or coming titles for PC or XBLA that were not only impressive in their presentation, but wowed with sheer abundance.

Our own Psykoboy2, bapenguin, and mightbe were in attendance and managed to snap pictures, roll some shakycam video, and get some hands on time with Alien Breed, Borderlands, Defense Grid Awakening Live, L4D2, Mass Effect 2, Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, Halo ODST, Panzer General Allied Assault, Rock Band: Beatles, Scrap Metal, Serious Sam HD, and Split/Second.

Check out stills over on the CoG Flickr and video over on the CoG Youtube Channel.

Thanks to Microsoft and the developers for hosting the event, bapenguin for getting us in, and forum-goer Jackel for the use of his trusty Nikon D90.

Stay tuned here for more nightly updates from CoG@PAX and more in-depth impressions from our hands on time.

From an old Game Developer Magazine:

Quote:
Yesterday, I was flown out to sunny Redwood Shores to play the first seventeen levels of an eagerly-anticipated holiday title. At the event, EA served a large buffet with a wide selection of finger food and sandwich ingredients, although the lack of corned beef - a personal favorite of mine - was a mild disappointment. Still, the buffet did its job fairly well, satiating my hunger so that I could settle into one of about a dozen ergonomic chairs and get my grease-stained hands on an Xbox 360 controller. A couple of salami-flavored burps later, I was already deep into what an EA rep described as near-final code.

I certainly hope they enjoy the pineapples being shoved up their ass while Nazis piss in their mouths.

Split/Second looked way more fun an impressive than NFS Shift, judging from what I saw at PAX today.

I hear that mightbe made out with Randy Pitchford and will likely be having his babies in 9 months.
