Want a Champions Online beta key?

Yes, it's in French, but it definitely works. You need to check the second answer and enter your email address. Not sure how many keys are left, if at all, but I managed to grab a key for Mrs Jonno earlier and they apparently had 15000 to give out.

Worked just fine for me, just got a key. Have you confirmed that yours worked?

EDIT: Just tried it myself, works just fine when registering a key on the champions home page. Woo!

Register that key with FilePlanet as well and it'll let you grab the Download Manager and the client which apparently unlocks in four hours.

Taken advantage of! I won't be able to play for ~2 weeks, so hopefully that doesn't become a missed opportunity.

The open beta is only for a week.

I believe Open Beta is just for this week (ends the 24th, I believe). The game launches Sept 1, and there is some time set aside for pre-order customers playing in the Head Start.

set everything up and downloading now. Will i be able to play with you guys given i'm in the UK? the keys from canada so i presume it will be for US servers

There is only one server, with multiple instances of each area. It's one of the reasons some of us are excited about the game, we can all play together.

I feel like some kind of Prophet of Awesome, braving possibly dodgy foreign language links in order to bring superheroic beta enlightenment to the unwashed masses of CoG.

I was somewhat sceptical when I tried it out, but was pleasantly surprised. And I certainly wouldn't pass it on without checking it was 100% authentic first.

Unless you get the game from certain retailers.

Amazon (US) and Direct2Drive customers don't get access to the head start, probably a few others as well.
