[RUMOR] Persona 5 PS3

Not a whole lot to go on, but there was something about a PS3 Persona 5 leak a few weeks back, now we've got another small thing that again, could just be a mistake. From Siliconera:

Even though I still haven't played P4 yet (I plan to later this year) it would still be nice to hear about P5. It's sure to come out sometime, the Persona games have done fairly well for their niche. Hopefully we'll know for sure at TGS.

I haven't played P4 yet either. But there's a whole list of crap I haven't played that's on my list before P4.

There was another hint about P5 on PS3 from a different source not too long ago. P5 is coming, putting it only on the PS3 seems pretty weird, though.

P4 is close to the top of the list for me. Hell, I may start it tonight, I've had the urge to play an RPG for a while. There's so much coming out that I want to play,though, and I know it would keep me away from that. Well, I guess there's really only Metroid, the next thing on consoles is Demon's Souls, and that's not for almost 2 months. Damn, I think I may have just talked myself into starting P4 tonight.

Why weird? It seems reasonable to me. I could see them going for the Wii for the install base, but maybe after the success of 3 and 4 they want to get a bit more ambitious with the graphics.

And you people talking about not having played Persona 4: Get on it!

If they want to get ambitious with the graphics---in comparison to PS2---they can do that on the Wii and probably easier than they can on the PS3. I'd even throw the 360 in there if I knew how well these games sold in UK/US compared to Japan.

It just doesn't make much sense to me to take an already very niche property and further marginalize it by limiting to the PS3, unless you happen to be the platform holder or directly funded by the platform holder.

It's true. I can't disagree with anything you've said. At the same time, the PS3 makes sense since so many of their games have been on Sony consoles for a while (with some portable games here and there). Maybe they feel that their audience is more likely to have a Playstation 3.

Honestly, I'd just be grateful it doesn't come to the 360. I don't need to have a reason to take the plunge and buy that console. I've spent enough money on the others.

You don't have to worry about that. If it came to the 360 it wouldn't be exclusive. 360 is still a dismal prospect in Japan.

That's what I figured. And considering how very Japanese the series is, it just doesn't seem to fit very well.

I'm covered no matter what system it comes out on, so bring it on.

To those starting P4 or thinking about it: do it now, let the slow start simmer, and after you get past the slowish start you will absolutely adore the game. There is this thread too if you decide to start.

Oh, I'm sure I'll adore the game just like I did P3, I'm just undecided as to whether or not I want to commit to a game that I know is going to last ~100 hours right now. I look over at my backlog and think that I could knock out almost a every current gen game that I have unplayed in the time it would take to play through P4.

That being said, I'm still seriously considering starting.

Sure, you can knock out a ton of current gen games in 100 hours. But I guarantee none will be as good as Persona 4.
