Not sure if this website has been posted yet in here, so here it is.

Game GiveAway of the Day

The website gives out a lot of games and useful programs for free every 24 hours, every day. Also, you can rate it a thumbs up or thumbs down and read their comments in order to decide if you wish to download it or not.

I didn't know there was a Game Of The Day site. I've picked up a couple of things from the related site Giveaway Of The Day. Seems to work okay so far. Nobody has hijacked my WoW account yet!

It's a respectable site, as far as I can tell, but over the year or so I've been following it, there have probably been 2 or 3 games worth downloading for free, and maybe 1 I would have paid for.

Don't get me wrong, free is free and I'm sure you could waste an hour or two with any of the games they offer, but generally the fare has been Zuma / other Popcap-style puzzle clones, the occasional turn-based strategy game, and very, very rarely a good action game. Worth keeping in the RSS reader, but don't expect too much.

JnG Gold pops up there from time to time. When it does, download it. Some of the most fun and punishing "R-type" (side scrolling shooter?) style gaming you can have. Oh, and the kickass soundtrack.
