FTL Dev Subset Games Announces Next Project: Into the Breach

Subset Games, makers of FTL have announced their next project.

Into the Breach takes the minimalist visuals seen in FTL and applies them to a turn-based strategy game that incorporates Rogue-like elements.
The remnants of human civilization are threatened by gigantic creatures breeding beneath the earth. You must control powerful mechs from the future to hold off this alien threat. Each attempt to save the world presents a new randomly generated challenge in this turn-based strategy game.
Subset is (wisely IMO) not talking release dates yet, but they do reveal that Into the Breach is currently slated for non-simultaneous PC, Linux & Mac releases.

Breach was an amazing game around the time XCOM1 came out. Maybe that's the influence behind this game?
