I'll pick it when patched and on sale. Next to Horizon and Nier and Persona soon I don't really need a merely average game.

finished the preveiw section for ea access. Enjoyed alot. Think i only got about 5-6 hours of the game instead of 10 and that was with exploring the other 2 systems doing i think most of the quests on Eos

Very mixed reviews out there. Given the consistent weak spots that seem to crop up, poor writing and characterization, I'm going to have to give that a pass. The story and characters are the top reason I loved the original trilogy. I just can't justify putting 30+ hours into a new Mass Effect if it has a weak story and shallow characters.

I'm disappointed that the new Mass Effect isn't what I was hoping it would be. Maybe if they fix the problems in the sequel I'll jump in then.

Holy shit nuggets gamespot gave it a 6/10. You know I didn't think they would have the stones after getting shitcanned for calling the kane and lynch game a total pos and retracting but looks like they still got balls over there.

The guy is pretty much saying the same thing I felt about inquisition. Sooo I can wait.

I needed a break from Overwatch. I love that game but eventually I get frustrated with losing and need to do some single player gaming for a while.

Just a few hours into it, but so far I'm liking it. The combat is pretty fun and the story isn't bad. Animations range from laughably bad to passable. More passable than bad, though.

I played 5 minutes last night and I wasn't put off by it, but I'll probably finish Zelda before going back. Was running really well on my PC and it looked pretty great (aside from male Ryder's facial hair), although someone really needs to come up with awesome custom face middleware for these games.

I'm going to wait for a big sale on it... like $20 is probably my limit. Even then I'll mostly be playing it for laughs. For now I have Zelda, Nier Automata and a number of smaller scale games to keep me busy.

I broke down and grabbed it. Going to start it up right away.

Looking forward to spending the evening with only the character creator like I always do with games like these....followed by at least one restart to make changes.

Good luck getting a whole evening out of this character creator.

If that's your only reason don't waste your money, it's not that bad.

So far other than a small hand-full of secondary and non-essential characters suffer from that terrible animation and sub-par writing. This is definitely a Mass Effect game and the core characters are no worse than in any of the other ME games.

Okay right off the bat. The resting mouth animation is a fucking pleased smile, like ya just had sex(queue the lonely island song). Or everyone's on some really good drugs. Yeesh.

Wow...you could take a whole evening to even figure out how to juke the goddamn system to even make something decent looking.

When in doubt. Make samus.

Also, encountered a bug right away during the first moment of gameplay. If you don't do what the tutorial tells you to do everything remains in zero g positions. Right off the fucking bat. If you don't do it you are screwed out of a data pad to interact with annnnnd oh yah it breaks the game and stops the next part of the tutorial where you learn to use the scanner tool. I had to rewatch the fucking intro again that can't be skipped. Awesome awesome AWESOME.

EDIT:

Okay I rewatched the tutorial for the 3rd time. Nope it's a broken script trigger where I'm supposed to talk to a npc that leads me to the next room. She's not interactable. I got through this no problem with default ryder but with custom ryder I'm experiencing problems. This, is fucking bs.

PS EDIT:

apparently the only way to fix this is to delete all my saves because this is the second character I created.

Awesome. I am going to go silently scream into a pillow because I don't remember the fucking sliders. MOTHER FUCK.

Wow, yes so this is the game they've been working on for years and it's not sounding that great. I'll wait for it to be patched and fixed up and the summer sale I think.

My main complaint with the character creator is I couldn't figure out how to make a decent face that actually stood up to the animation engine, so I just gave up and went with the default FemRyder.
