Yeah glad I'm waiting for a sale on this one.

Shame the series was day one purchase for me for 1-3

The worst part is..they've been working around the clock for the past year or two already and now that they have launched their game are still working around the clock.

Who is that caveman character that says when does the hurting stop or something?

Good though they're making things right. I'm still enjoying myself quite a bit.

It's a good game that could be great. Here's hoping it doesn't take half a year to get there.

They should have never left the Unreal engine for Frostbite. I get it. They wanted to save money on license fees, but the result of which just kills the experience. So many game breaking bugs.

The problem with the Frostbite engine is that it's good for games with a singular gameplay conceit, not a multi-layered one. That said, this game is basically Dragon Age: Inquisition in space. While that game wasn't perfect, but it was 1) also developed on the Frostbite engine and 2) nowhere near the technical disaster that Andromeda is.

Also, I don't think the character art direction feels like Mass Effect to me. Everyone seems like a Dreamworks Animation character, in that they seem squat and strangely rounded. The human characters, in particular, seem like they're all sweating profusely.

They've been actively developing Andromeda for almost 5 years now. Part of the reason it ended up this way is because the founders left, key writing staff left mid-project, and them putting the responsibility of development in the hands of a team that's a Bioware team in terms of name only (the Edmonton studio is the Bioware studio that EA bought before slapping their name on other studios).

Despite my bitching, I still like the game and have put more time in it than any other game I've played since Witcher 3.

This is becoming one of those games I need to be in the mood to play. Some days I load it up and only play for about 30 minutes before I want to play something else. Other days, I play 6 hours straight. Not sure what to make of this game yet, but I won't say it's bad for sure.

I've given up on ME: A. The nearly every quest (main, side, and tasks) is boring, the new cast of characters aren't engaging, and the crafting system is terrible. I'm perplexed by the animation stuff too: faces look terrible, but combat movement is nice and smooth.

However, I am glad to see some are enjoying it.

Are you crazy? You can make insanely fun weapons with this crafting system that can work in conjunction with your skills and profiles.

Why do I need to leave the planet each time I board the Tempest? Can't I just make some changes and head back out? Seems horribly inefficient. It's irritating that I need to see a take off and landing cutscene only so I could assign some Strike Teams.

I think it's more to cover up that they didn't have time to create instances of the ship being on every single planet.

A better question is why the waypoint system fucking sucks and is completely useless at time?

Looks like I need to crank up the difficulty. Played a lot yesterday and my biotic up close and personal build it wrecking everything. My Dahl shotgun has a mod that restores 15% shields when the clip is empty (2 shots), Charge restores 50% of my shields and a follow up melee attack also restores them. Slapped on an armor mod that gives me 50% more shields in exchange for 50% less health.

I toss out Singularity, Charge in, shotgun blast everything I can and melee attack what doesn't die. End the singularity early for a nice explosion and then repeat.

How is everyone else playing?

Pretty much the same as you, Wack. Architects can be a bit tricky, but everything else is a cakewalk.

Only thing I don't like about singularity is the cooldown. I guess when you get to lvl 30 though the recharge time will be down to 7 seconds making it a lot more useable but the 10 second mark makes it a bit too much.

I've been playing with the idea of an annihilation or shockwave, charge, lance build with the remnant cryo freeze gauntlet. Can't use it quite yet because I'm working on my infiltrator loadout. I like the idea of anni but the cooldown penalty on skills might require some crazy point investment to make it work.

Cryo insta primes on melee hit so I can charge, melee, shockwave(which can be talented to prime again), lance, charge over and over. I've seen once you get to decent levels charge has a 3 second cooldown or less which is just purely insane with its shield generation and lance using shield as a resource no longer having a cooldown. The combo with echo detination I expect spectacular results!

Anyone else use pull on the last enemy in a fight to hold them like a pinata for your AI team?
