I worked backstage on a production of Singin' in the Rain on stage here in Pittsburgh during a summer in college, with Randy Rogel playing the Don O'Connor part and Morgan Fairchild doing Lina Lamont. Was a great time - Randy isn't well known, but he's a fucking killer both comedically and as a dancer, and during the rehearsals I learned that he was one of the guys who wrote for WB during the Animaniacs and Batman Animated Series years. Guy was indirectly one of my childhood heroes and I had no idea. I don't know if he wrote Nations of the World By Yakko Warner, but I like to think he did.

Neat anecdote: you can't clearly hear a person tap dancing in water (duh), so for the titular scene they have the Don O'Connor actor just offstage, tapping in sync with the Gene Kelly actor and a microphone pointed at his feet piping out to the audience.

The tap dancing in Good Morning was just plain crazy. It was right up there with Jackie Chan stunts in regards ti the physical pain the performers were enduring.

Kong: Skull Island was a Michael Bay movie if Michael Bay could shoot a coherent action sequence. Jordan Vogt-Roberts pretty much steals Bay's book on setting up scale and then shoots a decent action movie around it. The humans are pretty useless and unconvincing.

I would like to revisit the Peter Jackson movie. It was entirely too self serious, but the Dinosaur fight scenes were great in my memory.
