Ok. Believe what you like about me. I'm not offended, just disputing an incorrect assumption, but that's not worth any more effort.

Wow, they certainly take their sweet time to add these movies to the instant.

Well, Netflix Instant isn't really known for new movies.

I guess anybody who has ever been scared by any movie cannot tell the difference between fiction and reality.

Unless the movie was a snuff film, or a documentary or something I guess.

Paranomal Activity series requires some sort of belief in the existence of ghosts
Unless you are referring to the later comment. Well then I was really scared of Clock Tower the video game even though I knew there weren't any psychopaths running around with giant scissors. During the half-hour I played that game, I was scared of psychopaths with giant scissors.

I've encountered the same effect with exorcism movies.

People who weren't at least raised to believe that shit aren't scared of them at all, they just find them stupid.

But people who grew up in religion, even if they swear they are atheist now, are fucking terrified.

I can't watch them. Rationally, I don't believe in possession at all, but there's still enough subconscious doubt that I'm left scarred for days and weeks.

I thought the third movie was much better then the first and on the same level as the second.

I'm curious to see how the 4th one turns out. I wonder if I'll be tempted to wait for the dvd/blu ray or go to theaters. I've only seen the first one in theaters which considering I have a belief in ghosts, scarred me for about a week or so following.

For me, I need to be in a room alone at night to enjoy these movies, I can't imagine watching them in a theater.

Agreed. That's how I watched the 2nd and 3rd and found them more effective that way with the lights out and everything. Even watched the 3rd in a thunder storm one night and really got the most out of it.

Agreed. It's much more difficult to knock one out in a cinema and not get thrown out.

Interesting. I brought my ex-wife to the re-release of The Exorcist when that came back into theatres (what 10 years ago?). She was a trooper.

I appreciated the movie for being a horror, but she was terrified. She had nightmares for at least a week.

She grew up and continues to be a hard-core Catholic. I am not.
