Agreed. While I played it on PC instead of the Switch, it was excellent. It's the best parts of the hand to hand/melee weapon combat of Hotline Miami with a teleport mechanic, so it plays a lot faster. The story was kind of nothing, but you aren't there for that.

These kinds of titles always scratch the right itch for me. Wonder what else is out there in this genre that I haven't tried...

I love how every stage introduces a new gimmick/obstacle/enemy type, and it just keeps you on your toes at all times. Some of the later stages were very fun because of that.

The emphasis on the versus gameplay in Puyo Puyo Tetris is kind annoying to me. Apparently they essentially hide the normal single player versions of the games, which are probably what I would spend more time on.

Still tempted to get it, possibly as a digital purchase so that I can easily launch it any time.

I downloaded the demo and loved it but too close to Mario Kart for me.

My copy of Puyo Puyo Tetris arrived in the mail yesterday. I had a blast playing the demo with my boyfriend, so I'm looking forward to diving into the full version with him, hopefully next week. The game is a lot of fun.

It's a very good controller but I don't know whether I consider it necessary. I'd say that in Breath of the Wild I probably play with the Pro 70% of the time but 30% of the time I just use the Joycons. Being able to play without my hands together is nice sometimes, and I don't find any lack of control fidelity or precision with them.

The only place where I think the Pro Controller is inarguably superior is the D-Pad; if you're gonna do a lot of 2D classic gaming (or maybe fighting games without whatever they eventually release for a stick), it's easy to see it as a must for that. Otherwise, though, I think it's pretty comfortably in the nice-to-have category.

Yeah, I'd agree it's not completely necessary, but pretty sweet to have. I'd rather have it than another set of Joy Con, for instance.

I agree that it is pretty much worthless during travel.

For me, the Joy-Cons are a convenience item. It's nice to play some Disgaea in bed while I try to go to sleep. But it is not conducive to long stretches of gaming for me. If I had the choice, I would likely almost always go TV/Pro.

The switch is worthless during travel? Sure, the battery life isn't great but that doesn't stop me as I just use an external battery to keep a charge. The beauty of Nintendo's USB-C choice.

Battery snap-on cases are also a thing now it seems.

The Pro Controller, not the Switch itself.

I brought along the Pro when I had anticipated using my Switch in a hotel room (I did not). Having not used the Joy-Cons very much I find them to be really awkward when rotating the camera in Zelda. I'm sure I could get used to them.

No thanks. I can make it so I don't add weight with my external battery. But it's good to know!

Maybe you want this code to unlock all of Puyo Puyo Tetris' story mode content:

First, hold L1 and R1. While you’re doing that, press up, down, right, left, “X”, “B”, “Y”, and “Y”.

Maybe you don't. (Nintendo Everything)
