During a recent conference call with investors, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said that the architecture of the Nvidia chip inside the Nintendo Switch is similar to those of Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and most gaming PCs.

What this means is that games created on those platforms can be easily ported to Nintendo Switch without difficulty. (GamesBeat)

It now makes sense why they were showing Skyrim in the reveal video.

[Ru]According to sources from Ubisoft and Nintendo, Laura Dale has been told that one of the launch titles for Nintendo Switch is an Ubisoft RPG that meshes the world of Mario with that of Ubisoft's Rabbids.[/mor]

These are the following details that were told to her:

Quote:
*According to sources at Ubisoft and Nintendo.

*Switch will launch alongside a new Ubisoft-developed turn based RPG, with the name suggesting it will be a crossover of the Raving Rabbids and Mario series.

*Currently under the working title ''Mario RPG: Invasion of the Rabbids'', is being developed under the watchful monitoring of Nintendo.

*Ensuring that it both hits launch day and that it conforms to Nintendo’s own internal specifications for how Mario characters and iconography should be presented.

*Title will focus on the Mario universe being invaded by Ubisoft’s Rabbids characters, some friend and some foe.

*Will feature a new Bowser form based around the design of the Rabbids as a recurring boss enemy.

*Numerous cameo appearances from the Mario series’ best known characters.

*Core party will feature numerous, more minor characters.

*Is a particular focus on Yoshi as a primary party member, alongside a playable Rabbid.

*Title will have a playable demo ready for press to experience in January.

*Will feature a quicksave system to ensure that saving is possible on short notice if the battery on the Switch handheld is running low.

*Part of the planned press demo includes the JoyCons vibrating to imply a Rabbid jumping into and out of them from the TV or handheld screen.

*Idea is to imply your system is infested with Rabbids, and that they could at any time jump out of your controller and interfere with gameplay.

*Title is going to be one of the cornerstone trailers shown when Nintendo details the system further in January.

*Nintendo intends to pitch the project to consumers as a Mario RPG project in collaboration with Ubisoft, in spite of Ubisoft doing most of the work on development.

If this pans out, it'll be like a version of the Nvidia Shield that's not woefully un-practical.

Which I'd be fine with. Plus a few Nintendo first-party games? Hey, sign me up.

It's probably not awful, but x86 -> ARM still probably a challenge worth considering as will be whatever memory is available.

In addition to PS4, Xbox One and Steam, former WiiU exclusive, Lego City Undercover will also see release on Nintendo Switch in Spring 2017. (WB Games tweet)

Hopefully they will fix the atrocious loading times. Otherwise the game is great.

I would hope with the newer consoles with better processors, they would be better.

I loved Undercover. I will buy it again.

That's the day after the big Switch presentation, which makes sense.

Some Nintendo Switch rumors across the past few days. Which one of these will you all lynch me for?

Rumor #1: The docking unit for the system will use USB-C, giving it extra performance without the need for additional hardware. (NintendoLife)

Rumor #2: From Software is working on a port of Dark Souls 3, including all DLC currently available for the title. If it sells well enough, From Software would also port the first two titles, along with all of their DLC. (NintendoLife)

Rumor #3: Sources from Eurogamer say that GameCube titles will be available via Virtual Console. The first three games will be Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Animal Crossing (and its included NES titles) is in the works.

Additional platforms for Virtual Console are still in talks, as well as the upgrade program which debuted on WiiU.

Nintendo is also looking to include support for WiiU's GameCube controller adapter.

Oh, a GameCube VC could be fun; I missed a lot of games on that one (including Luigi's Mansion). It'll be interesting to see if any of this proves true... especially that first one.

Nintendo announced GameCube VC for the Wii U and it never happened, despite the console being able to run the games natively.

It will probably happen this time, but I have 40+ GCN games so I probably won't bite. Here's hoping VC finally lives up to its potential on Switch.

Reggie Fils-Aime and Shigeru Miyamoto recently appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show to preview both Super Mario Run and the Switch version of Breath of the Wild.

A CE marking was spotted on the back of unit, leading to speculation that Nintendo Switch *might* be region free. (Perfectly Nintendo)

It is. That, and Nintendo is reportedly backing the game themselves.
