True, I noticed that.

Exactly... because of canon, the 2 PPC Catapult K2 exists. Pretty sure that's the variant that you can make into a Gaussapult (twin sniper). It's apparently popular among the rapist set.

They target, and mostly hit, the center torso. Side attacks do help hit the arms.

I assume this is true of LRMs too, then... they kinda rain down on the head and center torso, right?

They kinda hit all over. But yeah from a certain distance they fly UP then rain down. Focusing top to bottom. Within 400-500 meters they fly right at the target, mostly concentrating around the center torso.

Just wanted to make sure. I interpret hit and target rather differently, and I know you're deep enough into this game that I generally expect anything that comes out of your mouth to pretty much be gospel.

The worst thing about building around streaks is not being able to attack powered down mechs.

uhh no. not quite. if you don't have a lock the lrms will just fire into the air. and the streaks won't fire at all.

Alright, when allocating armor, a given component will list both a Max, which I assume is the maximum amount of armor that can be allocated to that component, and an Avbl value, which I'm a bit confused about. What determines the Avbl value?

Max - front/rear armor, depending on what you are looking at?

Yep, appears to be the split between front and rear. Thank you!

Good news for those of you with crap computers:

We are pleased to announce the latest engine drop of CryENGINE 3.4.1. This was a large undertaking and has helped us address many of the game’s issues and bump up performance and rendering capabilities.

What does this mean to you? The game looks significantly better. All of the maps have had their lighting tuned and you’ll now see a lot more detail in the environment. Minimum spec PC players should notice a fairly good improvement in performance with tuning still on-going and will be coming down the pipe as we optimize the game on our way to Open Beta.

DirectX 11 and 3D Vision support are currently disabled while we resolve the remaining few issues. These will come on-line in an upcoming patch.

We have also taken this opportunity to add some new pathing in River City for you to explore which adds some more gameplay strategies when approaching enemy bases.

Yeah, I got an email about that engine overhaul. Is enough to make me want to reinstall and see if I can get it to run better on my rig. I'd love to be able to romp around, even if I'm fighting giant walking lego shapes.

It looked prettier for sure when I booted up last night. I can't say it ran better, but then I didn't run benchmarks before.
