Mario 64 is so good.

Unlike that new Zelda game which I'm sure nobody is interested in or jealous of.

As a Nintendo fanboy in 96 who couldn't find an N64 around launch I literally spent like 8 hours hanging out in a Blockbuster Video playing the game from start to finish on their demo unit. I may or may not have gone back for the next few days hunting down stars......

Really??? I feel like you guys are pulling my leg.

But if not, it's from Song of the South. The story behind Splash Mountain at Disneyland/World. The rabbit is stuck in tar and the fox and bear are threatening to do awful things to him. He keeps agreeing as long as they don't throw him in the briar patch. In the end they do, but it just scrapes off all the tar and the rabbit is fine because the briar patch is where he was born and raised.

In general, it refers to begging not to get something that you really want. (Reverse psychology.)

My usage here is a little looser, but basically just referencing the fact that I'm saying the opposite of what I really mean.

I guess I figured it was one of those things that's just a part of of the collective consciousness. Like, how people who haven't seen The Empire Strikes back still know that Darth Vader is Luke's father.

Yeah, the only time I see it now is when people are showing clips from it as part of a 'look how racist Disney was!' presentation.

I'm not gonna lie, a little part of me is sad nobody is still talking about my nipples.

This better not awaken anything in me...

Working on a play through of Super Mario RPG for snes. I always forget how short this game is.

Yeah, that one is locked away for good.

I read Br'er Rabbit as a kid, and I got Keck's reference, for what it's worth.

Wow. That's a blast from the past. I used to have a Golden Book (or something similar to that) of Song Of The South (or at least of Br'er Rabbit and the tar baby) and I think a little record for my Fisher Price record player of the story. But yup... That one is going to be firmly locked away in the ol' Vault.

On a slightly less racist note, I'm going to be putting my gaming time into the same batch of games I've been working on over the past week or so.

Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4) - I've found most of collectibles in the area right outside the starting zone. Still lots of quests to work on and machines to kill just in the spot I'm at, but I may start to venture a little further afield. Love this game... It's so pretty...

Hey Mags, more like Legend of Smellda: Fart Of The Child!

Night In The Woods (PC) - I think I've managed to salvage at least one friendship and not completely piss off everyone, but man, the fight Mae just got into with her mom hits scarily close to home... both for myself and what I think I may end up going through with my own kids some day. Gulp...

Steamworld: Heist (PC) - Was on what may have been the final boss fight and came SOOO close to defeating it, but bam. Party wipe. Sigh.

Torment: Tides Of Numenera
(PC) - Once I wrap up NITW, I'll be getting back to this.

Ace Attorney: Spirit Of Justice (3DS) - I'm really enjoying this but I keep going to bed after 1am and nod off after about 10 minutes of play. I was having a hard time even seeing straight last night, I was so tired. Maybe I'll... *gasp* go to bed earlier?

Got caught up playing XCOM too long. Looks like I can initiate the final mission when I'm ready.

Got some cool knew psi abilities, but the most powerful one can also be the most annoying.
