I admit, I'm having a bit of trouble getting into Torment. Dunno why.

Did you play the original? It is a very chatty game. I had a right dickens of a time in the character creation part when I had to try to choose a descriptor.

I'm fine with having no Switch or Zelda to play right now. Much like Gorvi, Horizon has opened up and I will not have any lack of open-world shenanigans to get up to for the time being.

My son survived his 3 days up north at a wilderness school. I think the fact that he was just at a 4 day winter camp helped. Upside is that he's already slurring his words, he's that tired, so the usual rigamarole at bedtime will likely be avoided tonight.

No Switch for me. I've never been much of a Nintendo fan, but I'm glad others are enjoying it and the new Zelda. I almost pre-ordered the Super Deluxe edition of Mass Effect: Andromeda with the remote-control car, but since I got the CE for both Horizon and P5, I had to limit myself to just the game.

As stated in the Weekday thread, I'll be heading to my parents house and taking my PS4 along with me. My nieces will be there so it's looking like a good time will be had.

Horizon: Zero Dawn - This will probably be the only game I will play. Can't wait to hunt Robot Dinosaurs!

Oh and I'll be taking this pretty girl with me:

It's a good thing I have a bunch of games preordered because I just blew $140 on my daughter's birthday present. Got her a 6 month subscription to Doodle Crate (I showed her it and Tinker Crate and she was more interested in the doodle stuff, much to my chagrin). That said, it seems cool and it's always fun to get stuff in the mail.

I'll have a spare copy of the Witness for someone once that bundle comes in. I already got my PC copy when I grabbed that Freedom bundle.

Cool! Let us know how it is. I'm waiting to read a comparison of the two versions to see if there's any appreciable difference (portability aside).

Gamestop isn't that heinous to say.

It's okay. I have a gun.

Zelda is spectacular so far. Simply spectacular! I'm taking a forced break to enjoy some takeout, after which I need to do a few odds and ends, and then I'll get back to it! I just ventured to the first tower, so I'm not very far.

The Switch itself is slick. It feels so modern compared to the 3DS. Heck even compared to the Wii U for that matter.

The fact that you first compare it to the 3DS... and that it needs to be said that it feels modern compared to a WiiU...

I'm not trying to be snarky I'm just finding this whole product and launch fascinating because it is really hard to pigeonhole exactly which function is the primary device it's going to be compared to. Is it a crazy fancy portable? Is it a pretty decent lower-spec home console? WHAT IS IT?!?

Stupid human brain trying to categorize everything.

It's both, silly.

Stop trying to pigeonhole it and just go with the flow. It's better than both systems! Well, hardware/design-wise anyway. Hopefully the library will surpass that of the 3DS eventually. It won't take long to surpass the Wii U.

Of the four gamestops in the Sugar Land area, all had only ordered preorder copies.

I have my qualms about it as a 3DS replacement. I mean, I won't be letting my kids touch it in a portable form, that's for damned sure... not unless I get a titanium case for it!

I hope you got a screen protector. I hear the dock likes to scratch the unit up if you're not careful.

I'm probably going to get a protector soon. I wasn't going to, but the possibility of the dock making little scuff marks hadn't really crossed my mind.

Zelda is awesome by the way:

No, but Link wielding a claymore is pretty great. And the bombs in this game are fantastic.

That is a cool mount though!
