WeekDAY gaming (2.13.17)- What are YOU still playing?

Post weekend, better known as Monday is here again to grab your attention. Love it, hate it or just ignore it moving along through the weekDAY this is your gentle warning to get moving and out of bed then the door. If you refuse to take the gentle warning, we are not responsible for lost jobs, failed classes or your parent yelling at you to get out of the basement.

I didn't as much game playing as I wanted but I did manage to push the plot along in Mafia 3. The typical hope I will state again, to play more after work but that is if the tentacles of work will let me go that I come home before 10pm.

Out into the weekDAY you go...

What are YOU still playing?

It's my last day of leave & I go back to work tomorrow. Woo?

I'm trying to decide what to play next. Steamworld Heist is a fun little distraction but I'm torn between The Witcher 2 & Pillars Of Eternity.

It's a pretty standard, uneventful week for me. Given recent events, I'll take that gladly. Hopefully that means stress levels can go back to normal for me and I won't be passing out early every night like I have been from mental exhaustion, which will mean I can actually get some gaming in.

DanganRonpa 2 I really got sucked back in over the weekend. I was at the beginning of the 4th trial on Friday, now I'm midway through the 5th class trial. I've got to be getting close to the end now, there's not that many people left at this point. There have been some very interesting revelations coming up, I doubt I'll be able to put this down until it's done.

Gravity Rush 2 I didn't touch GR2 all weekend, I should be getting back to it soon.

Final Fantasy XIV Weekly stuff with a side of DRG leveling.

If I finish DanganRonpa 2 I have a feeling I may jump straight into Ultra Despair Girls. I'm all back into that universe. NIS has an event going Friday night, hopefully they'll be announcing a date for the third game. And I can hope against hope for a Vita version of Disgaea 5.

Darksiders 2 - I'm getting pretty far, in the City of the Dead. It was a rough start but pretty good game overall. Didn't help that I started on the hardest difficulty (Deathinitive). Brutal at the beginning but doable. I found a few exploits and now have a pretty OP weapon so I just need to find time to keep going.

Elder Scrolls Online is so much better than it was in beta. If they'd released this version game a few years ago I'd have subscribed in a heartbeat.

Also still making my way through Tales of Berseria. Played about 6 hours on Saturday but it was all side content so I'm still no closer to completion.

I am truly sorry for the profound loss you have suffered. Just know that though the pain is great now, you will emerge from this dark time a stronger person.

I finally moved the story in FFXV through chapter 9 and into chapter 10. Is this the same game?

Spigot, I recommend Witcher 2. Then you can play Witcher 3 after that, which is fantastic. I've heard great things about PoE and plan on playing it myself, but the sequel is a ways off so there isn't much need to hurry there.

Well Monday is here once again, yay? I had a great weekend with a decent amount of gaming. Hopefully the week will yield some gaming time as well. Today is pretty exciting for a Monday though, as I have the second part of a job interview this evening. The first part was via the phone on Friday, and apparently I made a good impression as the owner invited me to her farm for a tour and meet up. No, I'm not applying to be a farmer. The woman runs a high end residential horticulture business and the farm is home base.

A friend of mine works for the company and convinced me to apply. My friend said that tonight's meeting is just a formality and I likely have the job since I made a good impression on the phone. Fingers crossed! I was hesitant at first as the job is seasonal (thus less pay) and technically a demotion, but the stress of my current job does not line up with the pay at all and I'm tired of it. Two years of ever-expanding responsibilities and stress with no pay increase. I'm done. Having winters off will hurt financially but will give me time to relax, pursue my hobbies, and figure out my next big move. Wish me luck!

This week is looking pretty busy, especially since I could be giving around 10 presentations (not including my lectures). Oh, and tomorrow I have a test on constitutional law that I haven't even begun to study for. Mostly I've been getting by on what I already know, but at some point, today, I need to start working through the six chapters I was supposed to have read.

Oh, and my wife's wisdom teeth are coming in, so she's pretty miserable. (She is currently alternating between cursing me for not having any, and hoping our kids have that mutation.) Unfortunately, the dentist said it's all four of them, but that he can't do them, here. Instead, he referred us to an oral surgeon who gave us a ballpark of about $4000. We can do it, of course, but it's definitely going to hurt, this year (with GRE testing, grad school applications, and an intended trip to Vietnam all coming up).

On the plus side, it also started snowing out of nowhere. And a nice wet snow, too, the kind that's perfect for driving all over the county in. -_-

I thought I'd give a soldier update of my XCOM 2 game:

Crittias (Spark MEC): I've basically set him up as a battlefield domination unit with AoEs and the like. Due to overuse he's at max soldier level (Champion - 6/6) and has acheived Leader level 1.

Spigot (Sharshooter): Captain (4/6), with abilities for long range attacks and battlefield cover.

VerseD (Specialist): Captain, with anti-robotic/tech abilities, better cover abilities, and slightly improved healing.

MagGnome (Grenadier): Captain, set up with a bit more focus on being a gunner than a demolitionist.

LarsenNET (Ranger): Captain, mostly set up for assaulting the enemy rather than sneaking. Still took the Phantom ability, extra concealment is always good.

TheKeck (Sharpshooter): Lieutenant (3/6), set up the same as Spig so far.

Maharahaj (Genadier): Lieutenant, set up the same as Mags so far.

Biosc1 (Specialist): Lieutenant, pure combat hacker.

Dav Slinker (Ranger): Lieutenant, set up the same as Larsen so far. I may go more Scout with him.

Purple Santa (Ranger): Sergeant (2/6), only has a couple abilities, not sure where I want to go with him.

Now, I have room for another recruit. Choose a class, and if your name isn't in your profile here, give me something to put in the fields if you care.

I'll throw myself into the meat grinder. Recruit David Boyle, likely to die on his first mission given how far it seems you are.

No. One. Dies. I will save scum to absurdity if need be.

Ink - done. I chose Grenadier, I hope that's okay.

Heh. That's how I play, too.

Grenadier is cool. One of my favorite soldiers in my XCOM 2 playthrough was "Boom-Boom." I took the righthand abilities down the line and by the end she was my go-to robot-killer. She shredded through armor like crazy and with EMP rounds equipped and the ability where she gets to take a second shot if the first connects she could down a Sectopod in one turn.

Which reminded me of one of my favorite moments from my playthrough. I'd just given my best Sniper the Execute ability, which randomly triggers to outright kill a unit that takes damage from her. The very first time that ability triggered was on the next mission when a Sectopod comes barrelling into view, she pops an Overwatch shot at it, hits, and executes it. One dead Sectopod from one bullet.

You're in my character pool, with GenAXBY, Young Al Capone, and Muddi, but for some reason you all never show up in my recruits.
