Kind of bummed I didn't get a PS4 beta key for this, but I'm not sure I would have had a ton of time to play this weekend anyway. I guess I'll just have to wait for the open beta.

Wow, this game is real rough. The controls feel, I don't know, cheap? I'm not sure how to explain it, like a budget game. The animations are pretty bad as well. I really hope they plan on touching this game up significantly in the final months.

Yeah, I was saying the same thing in the discord...this game is basically Division: Coutryside, but the movement and cover and "feel" is a step back from the Division. It just feels clunky.

I do think there's something here, though.

Edit: but full Drone spec for real

The lighting is really nice, too bad everything else seems to be way behind the curve. I wish it looked as good and played as well as The Division.

So far it reminds me a little of Mercenaries.

I was in exploration mode (no specific mission selected) and I just "died" because I left the area which entailed me turning left on a paved road and driving 20 feet. I can maybe understand this if I was on a mission but if you can just randomly die when exploring this isn't an open world game.

I got the same feel of mercenaries 2 i really liked those games. I think the main problem i am having with it is there is no resistance while driving i literally drove in an almost straight line to objectives

Personally I really liked what I played. Someone on Reddit called it FarCry: Ghost Recon, which I can't argue. It basically got the same arcadey concept makeover that Rainbow Six did with Siege, so people will either hate or love that.

The customization for the characters and guns was pretty impressive, I wish The Division had been more in line with this in this regard.

Solo was decent enough, but when you have other players with you coordinating, it really shines.

My main concern is there was a bunch of graphical bugs when I played. Hopefully they can iron those out in the short time before it releases. Some people are saying it gets too repetitive, but I did the same missions a few times over with different groups and each time was a completely different experience depending on group dynamics, each person's playstyle, and the angle of attack.

Probably going to pick this up at launch.

Basically they made a far cry game with coop something that we've been asking for out of far cry since 3.

To me the difference is that Far Cry is a first person shooter and doesn't feel nearly as clunky as Wildlands did.

At the same time, the beta ran very poorly for me since my GPU isn't up to snuff anymore so it was hard to get a really good impression.

To be fair to the game, I think this was just a mechanic to keep people confined in the "beta" zone. I think we basically had the whole map available to us, you could aggro enemies from outside that area, one of the patrol missions would drive into it...I think they just wanted to keep people locked into that starter area.

I would bet that doesn't exist in the full game, or doesn't exist after some initial tutorial missions.

Yeah, that's exactly what it was. Glitchers actually found a way to get outside of the beta area if you do a stealth takedown right as the countdown was about to expire. Apparently the area we were at was the lowest difficulty, and shit gets really crazy in the other parts of the map (much more enemies in areas, attack choppers, etc.), which is the natural restriction for a lower level character.

The difference is Far Cry 3 and 4 felt good to play, this doesn't.
