Shovel Knight (by former WayForward guys)

This looks completely awesome. I don't kickstart much, but I kickstarted the shit out of this project. Looks like a cross between Mega Man and Duck Tales, with a bit of Castlevania thrown in for good measure.

Currently in development for PC, but given the history of WayForward, I would expect this to end up on Nintendo platforms eventually.

Goddamn you, Ink. Beat me to it by miles. Literally the first thing I though when I saw the title was "I shovel well, I shovel very well."

I love the animation of that character running with the shovel.

That looks great and just reminds me how I'm still not able to find a PC compatible gamepad with a great d-pad. Anyone that mentions an Xbox controller gets slapped.

I actually use my PS2 controllers on my PC.
All it takes is one of these.

I'm not a fan of the 360 controller, especially the dpad, but the ps2 controller has always been my favorite. No drivers required, no software to install period, and it can support two controllers, works perfectly, and you can either use the analog sticks or the dpad; your choice.

Be warned, some people get defective ones. Comes with the territory of an unofficial product that's also so cheap. I've had zero issues with mine.

Awesome. If they have a demo set up at PAX East, which looks likely given the banners, I'll report in on how it plays.

I'll likely be contributing. I emailed the devs asking about the possibility of a Vita version, and they said they're actively looking into it and want to do it. Not that it would be involved in this Kickstarter, but I'll back it anyway.

This looks AWESOME. The video sold me, but what really put me over the top was the fact that Polar Knight has a snow shovel - I love funny little touches like that.

I'm amazed that we haven't seen more of that pogo-attack gameplay ala Duck Tales. It was so useful that walking was a rare event. Capcom's 8bit days were truly full of gaming treasures.

I've backed too many projects, so I hope this does well so that I can just buy it for whatever platform I want when it releases.

They've added 3DS/Wii U download codes in at the $15 pledge level.

I saw that last night. That's a pretty nice incentive.

Ink, did you get to play this at PAX? I saw the booth but didn't get any hands-on time with it.

Unfortunately, no. In all my trips through the expo hall I didn't notice the booth.

Ah well. Backing anyway. It was over on the edge of the indie section near Hawken and the Popcap booths.
