EDIT: If I didn't need (want) to buy a PS4 this month I'd probably be buying one right now for my office PC... that bad boy is still rocking a GTX460.
My thoughts, too, actually.

You're going to enjoy the PS4 if you stick to the exclusives (Horizon, etc,), unless that will be your only gaming console.

I've had a PS4 so I already have Bloodborne and Destiny but I sold it before the Pro was announced to maximize what I could get for it and put the money towards my VR setup. I figured I'd want a Pro at some point anyway and I had 8 or so months before the next games I wanted were coming out but it turns out the benefits aren't really worth an extra $200 for the Pro so I'll probably just find a used PS4 for cheap so I can play Zero Dawn because I NEED to play Zero Dawn.

My PC is my primary platform so I'm pretty much just buying it for Zero Dawn, Dad Of War and the Uncharted and Last of Us expansions... Did I much I really want to play Zero Dawn?

I posted in the Horizon thread that I really had no interest in the game at all, and I pre-ordered it based on the early reviews. I was NOT disappointed.

That 480 is a great deal, wow!

All this talk of graphics cards is almost making me want to upgrade my 970. This thread is dangerous.

So, some slightly difference advice sought: my father, who is 79 years old, needs a new desktop PC. He's reasonably computer savvy, but he only uses his computer to browse the web, manage his finances, read email and watch Youtube videos he receives from friends. He does not need a lot of horsepower. That said, he has money to spend, so a large screen is definitely well within his budget.

I'm thinking perhaps an all-in-one? Something to keep the clutter on his desk to a minimum. Any suggestions?

Email and finances using separate programs? Or all via the web? If all via the web, maybe a ChromeOS device, like a ChromeBox. Very little overhead and management stuff

He's a Quickbooks guy, so he'll need a PC. A shame, because I'd love to get him a Chromebook and retire from tech support.

Even when you think you are retired from tech support, they pull you back in

Ah... After some (ahem) troubles, I finally have my new PC up and running smoothly. The RX 480 (8GG) is probably the most modern video card I've had since the days of the ATI Radeon 97/9800. Running Forza Horizon 3 on my 27" QHD monitor is a sight to behold.

I added another 8GB of RAM to bring the total up to 16GB.

While the build isn't likely to win any plaudits from Maximum PC, I'm more than happy with it.
