2 Destiny 2 Furious

Surprising absolutely no one, Destiny 2 has been announced, with a September release likely in the cards. The teaser image above doesn't reveal much - The Traveler has seemingly eclipsed the sun, and many things are on fire - but expect another six months of reveals going forward. We do know for sure that your non-cosmetic progress from Destiny 1 won't carry over to the sequel. In most games, this wouldn't be noteworthy - you can count on 1 hand the number of RPGs in the last 2 decades that included full carryover - but Destiny's hardcore fanbase wasn't happy with this decision.

I thought the original Destiny was a very good game, which hinted at the greatness that could come. I dearly hope the sequel meets, or surpasses, that potential.

I was pretty hardcore, despite my almost complete lack of raiding, and character progress not carrying over is fine. At the very least it gives them the chance to redo classes, skills and equipment from scratch. After 3 long years with the original, I'm okay with playing something a little different. (Hopefully they do something for their dedicated players.)

I loved the original despite its flaws, and am really looking forward to seeing how this looks and plays.

I'm really looking forward to playing the PC version. Despite all of its flaws and the fact I played mostly solo the original is one of my favorite games this generation.

I liked the game quite a bit after the major changes and I'll be there day one on the PC.

But for real 'Destiny 2' is one of the most unintentionally, hilariously stupid names I've heard for a game/movie/TV show/whatever.

Destiny. ...TWO!

You can't write satire of this because where do you go from 'Destiny *2*' It's the sequel...to "Destiny."

Is a PC release more than just an "everybody assumes they will because of course they will" yet?

I believe that Activision has said so in investor meetings.
