In the trailer, Bane's single line of dialog is easy to understand and in that scene it makes sense that it does. He's speaking directly to another character. But during an action sequence where body language is everything it's not a failure if Nolan decides to keep the dialog more natural sounding.

Dialogue is a versatile tool that can give the audience plot points and establish character traits. It is best not wasted.

There is an old saying about not talking during a play cause you might miss a line, and if you miss that line you don't understand the scene, and if you don't understand the scene you don't understand the play.

Body language is not everything.

Perhaps it is silly to think that missing one line could wholly demolish your understanding of a story, but in anything well written every line is important. The dialogue in the opening sequence of the movie is important. It is establishing what kind of character Bane is and every line exchanged is deliberate.

CIA guy: What would happen if I take the mask off?
Bane: It would be very painful.
CIA guy: You seem like a tough guy.
Bane: Painful for you.

Then Bane has some really good line about no one caring who he was or what his face looked like before he started wearing the mask.

The rest of it I couldn't understand, which was made worse by the fact that I really liked what I could understand.

It is unfair to say that just because a scene has action around it the dialogue is not important.

Sorry if this is already discussed, it's just so long a thread and I did read around 200 posts, but it's sooooo long.

Anyway, is there a conspiracy theory that they are going to include the Talia al Ghul - Damian/Robin story in this one? I noticed on IMDB when looking at the cast that Ra's Al Ghul is back and there is a little girl cast as Young Talia. Then there are a couple of credited actors that don't have their roles mentioned. One is a beautiful actress that looks like she could be the grown-up version of Talia, and one is a little Spanish boy who I guess could be Robin if you cast him based on the comic book look instead of trying to make him look like his parents. The little Spanish kid is also cast as Bean in Ender's Game, so he might have some industry "heat" from having played Robin.

Anyway, I think actually casting a kid to play Robin would make the role less stupid. There is something (mostly) creepy and awesome about how Talia turned her kid into a death machine, and it saves us from having to question Batman's sanity when he allows a little kid to be in danger. I know that Robin is extraordinary and would have chosen to do these things alone if Batman weren't around, but that seems like a poor excuse to me. A good role-model who cared about a kid could mold a kid back into a life less dangerous - at least until they were old enough to make that choice for themselves. Also, I liked how Damian was being written as this mix of super-serious little Batman and a kid. . . they kind of lost that with the New 52, but it was interesting while it lasted.

I'll still go and see this movie because I loved the first two, but I'm honestly not expecting much. I think this summer belongs to The Avengers.

Yeah, they changed his voice. I remember reading they had gone through and 'cleaned' it up a bit after all the complaining.
