After playing episode one, I think they have a winner on their hands. And I'm not the only one.
They've got 4 episodes to try keeping up the momentum, though. Anyone who's played it think that Duck is kind of a riff off Carl? Last edited by Vigil80; 04-27-2012 at 08:48 PM. |

SO awesome.
Posted this in the finished games thread, but I hope the little decisions and things people "learn" about you come into play more in later episodes, but otherwise it's one of the best games Telltale has put out in a long time, and just the concept of a choose-your-own adventure zombie apocalypse is the holy grail of my 12-year old self. I also hope there isn't a save after the end segment, because I didn't want spoilers for episode 2 and shut it off when the preview started. Any idea? |

Does the game have a separate storyline from the comic/tv show? I'm hesitant to play it if it will spoil stuff.

Different characters. Some earlier appearances of characters from the book. Showing you them right before they appear in the comic.

I tried the demo and liked it enough. I bought it and am happy I did. A fun game so far.

If they can pay off your choices well, for me it'll EASILY be Telltale's best game, and could be one of the best games of the year. The first episode is -that- impressive.

Played the demo, and I liked it. Rather a good pacing and the controls manage to keep things heart jumping without become cumbersome.
I am going to wait though, until I see how "episodic" it is. If they are out once a month or so, I will wait and pick them all up later. Anyone got it know what the playthrough time is?

![]() The demo is good but the way the game begins is even better. Edit: The choices you make are decisive enough (imo) that it is worth playing through again. There were some choices I made that I want to see if I did it differently. Not sure if this adds to your personal value for the game or not.

I'm resisting the urge to play it through again already. The wait on these episodes is going to be killer - way more anticipation than I've ever had for an episode of the TV show.
The "previews" for the next episode -appear- to already be tailored to your choices, with certain characters reacting to your ep1 actions. A 2nd or even 3rd playthrough will be a must for me, just to see how they handled the details of a branching story.

I am only at the drug store, but this is quite good. It's the exact opposite of Jurassic Park.

There is a puzzle I really liked in the drug store. That part sold me on how fun the game was.

Wow, so even on a short runthrough you're looking at 7 hours? Heck, even hours, pural, is more than I was expecting.
I thought these were going to be like 90 minutes, maybe two hours long. No idea on the release times though? I'll hold out for now, as I don't want to get invested in it then have to wait months for the next one. I'd rather wait till towards the end and pick up all of them before the last one is out. So it's all still fresh.

I believe it's going to be roughly one episode a month.
PC users sure get the shaft not being able to buy it episodically though. I had non-gamers talked into checking it out for $5... for $25? Not a chance.

Oh I am so tempted for 360. It's only $5 a go, and I'll end up spending the exact same amount anyways. This way I can piece meal it.

Glad to hear it's doing so well, although I probably won't get around to it until after the whole season is released. Probably pick it up during the holiday Steam sale.
