The plot thickens... (maybe related, maybe not)

Tim Cook spotted at Valve Headquarters

It seems more likely that Apple is finally interested in making non-casual gaming more viable on their products. I can't think of a reason Valve would need hardware people for that. It seems unlikely that Apple is looking to partner with Valve on a console, but stranger things have happened. That'd be a pretty big deal if it did happen, though.

And we are one step closer to harnessing the power of the game.

Now we're all sons of Barkclays.

I love you.

I have no idea of the two are related, I just thought the timing was interesting.

There have been rumours of Apple looking for a controller-type interface for their devices.

If we want to get all crystal ball, Apple TV has always been the red headed step child of Apple, a pet project. Jobs even said as much. I'm waiting for the day when they really start to put some effort behind it.

If and when this day comes, I think (especially now, post-Jobs) that gaming will be a big part of it. I predict that when Apple does decide to go big with Apple TV, they will be looking to compete with consoles for all but the most hardcore of gamers. Pairing with Valve would be a very smart move to jump start this vertical.

Now that I've typed the word 'vertical' I think I'm going to go throw up a bit.

You know, me too.

Can one simultaneously be a fanboy and an anti-fanboy of the same thing?

Aren't there already a bunch of controllers that connect to it wirelessly? There is even an arcade cabinet for the iPad.

Biometric? Hmm. I was thinking of maybe some kind of hotbox between your computer and your tv? Stream a game from your PC hardware to your big screen?

You'd need dedicate games for a biometric controller?

Apple going to Valve for hardware makes about as much sense as Valve going to Apple for software.

What you're looking for is an HDMI cable.

If we could just harness the energy ... hmm ... how about another physics analogy ... you can be until taken out of the box and then your waveform must collapse into either a fanboy or an anti-fanboy.

There are, but there isn't a standard. Until there is, you won't get adoption on any meaningful scale.

That is a bullshit business-speak for we don't know why this doesn't sell!

I believe they are looking for something more integrated.
