I celebrate the original holiday of Eostre, a pagan festival celebrating spring and fertility. Speaking of which, I'm late for the orgy/goat sacrifice. Anybody have a flint knife?

Wife and I just got back from a nice Easter service, and we're prepping a mashed potato dish for a potluck this afternoon .

We got each other Easter baskets, too. I got her a bunch of candy she likes, plus some popcorn. She got me a basket with a bottle of Rogue Shakespeare Stout, the most awesomely excellent beer ever created.

Church lunch was sweet. The best part was when us younger adults hid plastic eggs around the host's yard, then let the kids go wild finding them. The mom of 4 kids forgot to buy her youngest son a new Easter basket, so she gave his Halloween skull bucket to store his eggs in. I almost died laughing watching this kid hunt for brightly colored plastic eggs with his grim skull.

It was also a lovely surprise to come home and find two "urban" gentlemen we've never seen before smoking pot in our cul de sac with their giant bulldog and a young boy. Way to be responsible adults, men.

Mom is coming over for a ham dinner. My youngest daughter came down from college last night; Always nice to see her.

I always get to cook and carve the big hunks of cooked meat.

Just bought a Sony 55" LCD TV to replace a 8 year 65" rear projection tv that died last November. Moved the old tv out, cleaned the living room up and I am ready to unbox it.

Happy pastel candy day.
We didn't watch our Easter movies this year (Jesus Christ Superstar and GodSpell).
I spent most of the day doing homework.

But we did enjoy the early morning wake-up call from our 6 year old to find some Easter eggs. We don't claim the Easter bunny as a real figure like we do Santa Claus. But I enjoy hiding the candy-filled eggs, so I don't lie to her. She knows we hide them...but she still gets a kick out of it.

My sister came over early and had a breakfast with us and the kids, then we took them out for an easter egg hunt, then we visited my poor dad feeding-tube-afflicted dad, and finally ended things off at my wonderful in-laws drinking mimosas and eating rotisserie turkey.

Each of the kids got a cool science kit and a book about dinosaurs or astronomy.

Supes didn't invite you out for Easter drinks? Bastard.

Well it's Easter Monday so I guess it's still ok to post

This was our first Easter by ourselves. ADD made a glazed ham (cola and cherries) while I made potato latkes. Not exactly passover fare, but she likes them

Rails? The DAY/END threads don't need no stinking rails, they just meander like a drunk looking for a bench to flop down on~ Gorvi
