So Black Rock Shooter is about a girl's inner positive emotions that fight and defeat other girl's negative emotions?
Holy crap, there's more Guilty Crown? What else haven't you told me? |

I'm watching Desert Punk while killing time until I have to take the cat to the vet for his checkup. Stupid drop-off time at 7 AM.
Desert Punk is... amusing.

Only 1 more ep of Another.
I need more MEI! *sniff*BRS is only 8 eps total which means its at the end too which sucks. BTW is anyone watching Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai? It looks like your typical loli fanservice show but its actually a lot more then that. Its not what I'd call and exciting show but its a lot more mature then it looks like. It deals with some pretty serious issues and handles all of them in a pretty mature way. I've really been enjoying it.

Another part of their culture I won't ever understand. Just like why it seems that cold air is all that is required to get sick...

I love cicadas and the sounds they make, but I might have to squish one if they said such things.

Started watching Ano Natsu de Matteru (Waiting in the Summer). A lot of staff overlap with Toradora, and similar feel / art style.

Has anyone ever seen/heard anything about Legend of Galactic Heroes?
Is that anime's best kept secret? I am hooked. I'd say there are lulls and some overexposition, but it's a fairly rich world...and they do try to nuance their characters. I'm about 40 episodes into the main series and it's an absolute treat. It's character mini-arcs that begin to overlap and form something epic in a sci-fi setting. 'Space opera' does not do it justice. |

Damnit! Finished Guilty Crown and with the season over I got nothing to watch! I may go crazy with boredom...
I've never heard of Galactic Heroes but I've never really been a big fan of epic space galactic empire shows. I don't know why, but they just never really grabbed me.

Watched all 109(? I think) episodes on bootleg VHS when I was 13 or 14. I loved that show.
I almost didn't watch it because of the name. It's got some pretty spotty animation and it's obvious they had to cut a lot of corners to get it produced, but the story and world are so complex that there hasn't really been anything similar produced. I also think Space Opera is the best descriptor but also a misleading one. It's not Star Wars or Mass Effect. It's like an opera, in space. If you watched it, you'll understand. It's unique enough that I suggest everyone track down the first 4 episodes or so and give it a shot. You'll know if you can stand the style of art and storytelling after that first batch. If you can, it's definitely worth it. |

Alright I'll check out this "opera in space..."
![]() Ano Natsu is quite a good little series. Its basically a spiritual successor to Onegai Teacher. It was quite touching at times and worth checking out. So, what shows did you watch this season? What did you end up liking, hating and whatnot? Anything that you had high hopes for but were let down? Anything that you watched not expecting much but ended up pleasantly surprised? Speak up! I can't get into my list to much right now but I will put Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! in the pleasantly surprised category. Another was also really good as was Mirai Nikki. Sadly I must put Nisemonogatari in the "let down" category. It wasn't bad by any means and compared to any random show I'd easily say that it was good, but I just didn't feel that it came together as nicely as the first series did. Maybe its just because its a sequel? I dunno...

I am still going through Fairy Tail on Hulu. I wish I could find more time to watch but life has been rather hectic. Still I am really liking it. It scratches a similar itch to Naruto but the main character never get that annoying.

I finally wrapped up Lelouch season 2 (I only watch an hour of anime a week at most, and that's the positive take). I loved it. It ties shit up nicely and was consistently entertaining throughout both seasons. It's probably in my top 10 of best anime series now.
