My Wii...she's not working. Want to sell yours or fix mine?
Hiya.
I had some youngsters at my house last Super Bowl. One of them jammed a dvd into the Wii while it was powered down. I got the disc out, but now it will not read any disc. My kids are asking for Mario games for Christmas. Sigh. Anyone want to sell their dusty Wii? Or maybe one of you wizards wants to make some bank and fix mine? |

Tried this? Though you may need a torx screwdriver
http://www.somelifeblog.com/2008/06/...air-guide.html I've taken my Wii apart a couple of times and it really isn't that bad at all. No worse than taking the keyboard off a laptop to replace a harddrive. |

It would help to know in which part of the world you live in...
Note that there are ways, described on the Interwebs, where you can modify your wii and plug a Hard disk or usb stick to store your game backups. So if your wii's only problem is the disk drive, then it can still be used for that. |

Nintendo replaced my DVD drive for free when I called them, and it was out of warranty. It may also cost you less than the price of a new or used Wii if yours is out of warranty anyway, and repairing your system means you don't have to worry about non-transferable saves (Smash Bros) and any downloaded games. Call Nintendo, see what they offer. Your only restriction may be the turn-around time of having it by Christmas.
