So I finally have had some time with this game. Still in the prologue. I am really having no fun with the combat. Either I suck ass, or I don't "get" it. There is a lag after a swing, which leaves you wide open for a counter. Unless you keep spamming your attack. It seems random when I get a finishing move. More than one guy at a time is too much. That was half the fun in the first game, using the multiple enemy technique. I can't seem to switch to the guy I want to hit half the time. Again, easy to do in the original. I am on normal, and it seems I will need to switch to easy. So far the game looks great and the story portions are interesting. But I literally play through most areas more than a dozen times due to constantly dying on normal difficulty. Save save save. Even so, it shouldn't' be so difficult in the early areas. And so far the so called tutorial has been less than helpful. Better off doing things the old fashioned way, and read the manual. I also wish the quick menu had descriptions of the items and signs. As much as I love The Witcher, I do not have the signs memorized. A rough start to what I hope to be a fun game. Just too bad I need to play on easy to get to the fun. And unless I broke something while binding keys, I can't seem to figure out how to even meditate. I don't like how you have to now meditate to use potions. Lame. No easy way to boost health during combat. And speaking of key bindings, they can only be assigned while out of game, like the video settings. WTF? I always tend to bind new settings and yet, I don't memorize them. I can't quickly reference while in game. I also can't seem to bind every action in game. Things like inventory and quicksave are not bindable. My consolitis senses are tingling. Unless things improve soon, I like the original more so far.
