iOS Gamecenter handles thread
So now that it's out there, I think it deserves a thread, if only to build up a friendslist before the games start supporting it.

Heh, mine just has the gamecenter app. I'm using the GM release that was available on the Dev site though. I thought that they just included it with the update. If not, I'll just let everyone ignore this thread and bump it once it does become available to the rest of the world.

Apple has learned their lesson, they are modularizing their own apps. Makes updating them easier. I suppose that's why ipad doesn't ahve a calculator.

Yeah it's not out yet for the rest of us as far as I know. This thread can be a placeholder until then though.

I guess it may come out soon. Looks to be included in the next update to iOS 4. Per Engadget they are dropping compatibility with the 3G and 2nd gen iPod Touch as well.
I think this was mentioned in the Jailbreaking/unlocking thread in the technology forum as well.

So, uhhh, since I'm new to owning an iPad, what exactly is Gamecenter? I've found many links saying that it may or may not be coming soon, but no actual definitions of why I should care.
