Is This What the Next Mortal Kombat Movie Will Look Like?

Ok, this may be fake. Hell, it more likely than not isn't real. But too cool not to post. A youtube video purporting to be from the announced film re-boot of the Mortal Kombat franchise. And it's about as far from the campy original movie or games as you can get.

It's a really gritty, violent take on the characters. Baraka and Reptile portrayed as something other than mystic monsters, instead making them into killers straight out of films like "Seven". It also has Michael Jai White as Jax and Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade, so there's some modest star power here. But is it real? Probably not.

Chances are this is a director's modest budget attempt to land a feature film, similar to the "Batman: Dead End" and "World's Finest" shorts done nearly a decade ago by aspiring auteur Sandy Collora. Still a really fun 7 minutes.
