Comic Jumper PAX East Demo & Screens

Posted above is a brand new video for Twisted Pixel Games upcoming XBLA release, Comic Jumper: The Adventures Of Captain Smiley. This is the same video that will be on display next week during PAX East in Boston.

We first heard of the Captain and Star, his back-talking chest emblem, during the 2009 PAX in Seattle back in September. Now we're finally getting a look at how it's all coming together. You can find a full stack of screenshots from the video below.

Twisted Pixel makes games with a lot of personality, I'll give them that. I loved Splosion Man, but mainly because even when the novelty wore out, there was some fan-damn-tastic gameplay to back it up. I love the writing, voices, music, and presentation of this game already - honestly, enough to buy it day one - but I'm not sold on the gameplay yet.

Granted, I haven't played it.

I loved The Maw and Splosion Man but I'm just not feeling this game like the others. I'll try the demo first. Also, why is it we don't have any higher quality Youtube videos?

Veeeery interesting. I've loved their last two offerings immensely so sign me up for the third.

I did not care for their last two games, but I am pretty interested in this one.

I liked the gameplay but it almost seemed to easy. And I have an issue with all the swearing. It's subtle and with it's use it's funny, but after the cutsey fun games, Maw and Splosion Man, it's awkward seeing a Twisted Pixel game have a potty mouth. I dunno, just me thinking out loud.

I'm more intrested to see how the different comic genres change the gameplay. I'd love to see him gunning down big-breasted anime girls in a manga comic.

I dunno...it didn't really grab me, honestly. I liked Maw and 'Splosion Man, but this seems...

Almost like it's trying too hard. I dunno, it's hard to explain. Plus, I'm not really sold on the 'basketball for a head' design for the super hero Color me tentative.

Go back to 'Splosion Man and play the first level. And I mean the FIRST level (1-1). Pretty easy, right?

Now go play level 2-8 or one of the levels in the 3rd section.

That was hard to watch, wasn't funny, tried to be, wasn't. gameplay looked alright, repetitive but had a nice style. I did like when he jumped from page to page.

Honestly, I thought it was pretty funny, except the villain's rant about bank fees. That seemed a little forced, and I wouldn't mind if they changed it out.
