The Year in EA: More Dragon Age, Epic Shooter & More
While it hasn't been all puppies and rainbows lately for Electronic Arts - in just the last few moths they've announced major layoffs and plans to cut back on their slate of games - they still have a number of major games in the pipeline. As part of their quarterly investor report, EA detailed their release schedule for the next twelve months. You can see the full slate by clicking the 'more' button, but some of the highlights:
- APB and the next Medal of Honor game are both set to release the third quarter of 2010 (July to September). - Crysis 2, a pair of EA Sports Active titles for the WiiFit and a console version of Sims 3 highlight this coming holiday season. - The Q1 2011 will see Dead Space 2, the next Dragon Age game, a new Spore game and EA's new Epic-developed shooter. All of this and the usual servings of EA Sports, Harry Potter and Need For Speed games. EA also has at least three stand alone downloadable games, one of which is a digital trading card (DTC) game. Lot's of sequels. Epic could be intersting, hope they deviate from the space marines or marines in general somewhat.
Hope the fuckers also don't fuck up DS2. |

Like a record, baby.

Isn't Dead Space 2 supposed to also come out on PC?

More Dragon Age is a good thing. But, I hope EA doesn't start making Bioware rush out a sequel a year. That would be bad.

I think the original EA Sports Active was WiiFit only, so I'm assuming the sequels will be too.

It sounds like they're going to try. From Joystiq:

I hope they re-design the entire Codex system in Dragon Age. The unread highlighting system is crap on the 360. It should mark as read when I OPEN it, not when I invariably have to select it as I scroll down.

Fast turnaround on Dragon Age. They must be pretty happy with that engine. Between the expansion and this, DA is going to feel almost like a TV show, a seasonal bit of ye olde fantasy demon raping and wench molesting!
Or at least that's how I remember it...

As of now APB is PC only, but Realtime Worlds wants to move it to consoles after launch.

Dead Space is one of my favorite games from this gen. I seriously hope the sequel doesn't suck.

Man, I am so glad I'm not the only person who hated this. This was incredibly annoying. Thank you for validating my concerns!

Says here that while the announcement was specifically for the PC, they're making a 360 version. |

Dear Internet,
|
Looks like the departure of Glenn Schofield and that other guy has turned some screws loose up there at Visceral Games.
First there was the retarded marketing campaign for Dante's Inferno, and now NO DEAD SPACE 2 POUR PC? Ham doctors!

Hmmm, I'm hoping the chaos of a necromoprph outbreak at it's hieght will allow for the "action" but also provide the "fear" that comes with the utter confusion of a large scale disaster unfolding.
Worrying that DA turnaround is quicker than DS. I was not overly impressed with the use of the engine in DA, it was good, but I think ME looked nicer (and was a year earlier).
